” Did you ever hear Hatch stand up against the progressives going too far with the police state in the name of domestic terrorism? Was he standing next to Rand Paul raising cane about TSA sexually molesting babies and toddlers?

I did not think so.”

Never!

No apparently you are unable to tell the difference between exposing mormonISM and anti-mormon.

Man, you’re not lying! I saw him at the last town hall and he looked livid that he even had to be there. This is the beneath him.

Freepers in general are people who are aware of what is going on, so they assume other Freepers are too, and should not have to waste their time recounting all the info that is common knowledge as to why any conservative would want some other conservative to replace Hatch.

Since you asked for some specific issues, Hatch voted for TARP and is a big Dream Act supporter. That’s not all, but it enough right there.

In his first race for elective off Hatch criticized his incumbent opponent Moss’s 18-year tenure in the Senate, saying “What do you call a Senator who’s served in office for 18 years? You call him home.” [6] Hatch argued that many Senators, including Moss, had lost touch with their constituents. So, Hatch who has been in the Senate for twice as long a the guy he replaced made the case against himself in this election rather well 36 years ago!

As far as being part of the D.C. Establishment, it does not get more establishment and stickier than this - Hatch’s son Scott is a partner and registered lobbyist at Walker, Martin & Hatch LLC, a Washington lobbying firm. The firm was formed in 2001 with Jack Martin, a staff aide to Senator Hatch for six years, and H. Laird Walker, described as a close associate of the senator. In March 2003, the Los Angeles Times reported that the firm was formed with Hatch’s personal encouragement and that he saw no conflict of interest in working on issues that involved his son’s clients.

How many times over 36 years has Hatch voted to raise the debt limit to get this country to whatever portion of the 15 trillion dollar debt he is presonally responsible for? I’m not gonna count them up for you. Just say, most people instinctively understand the guys that got us into this debt disater are not the ones we trust to get us out of it.

This is all the information I have time to give you, but now that you have learned what you have been missing here that should make you want to see him retired, perhaps you will count yourself as a supporter of Dan Liljenquist.

Have a nice weekend!

Aren’t there a bunch of FR posters running around spamming threads with anti-Mormon junk claiming that being a Mormon alone makes one a liberal.

That's 'anti-MormonISM' junk facts...

... claiming that being a Mormon alone makes one a liberal.

Well; we are STILL waiting for a MORMON on the National scene that ISN'T a LIBERAL to be produced.

Do YOU have one for us?

78 years old, and won’t give up either the power, the perks, or the meat wagon.... Lugar, 80.....same.

People are asking why do we want to get rid them, really?

Nothing against our seniors but ya think he is a little out of touch?

I mean this isn't like a titan of busness going their ( Bob Lutz comes to mind, just because of his age and it would be a career change ) for one term to cap off a life of work...

Just like, Specter, and Levin who has been their 36 years. and Dingell, at 55+ it is time to go.

Do ya think our Founding Fathers wanted them their that long? And that doesn't even touch the admendment that made Senators elected by the popular vote.

It is time Orrin...

When Hatch took office, our national debt was $700 billion. Today, it’s pushing $16 trillion.

You don’t want to get run over by the passive-aggressive bus.

Speaking of bus...

Would that be the same one that the MORMONs threw their god under; in favor of STATEHOOD?

1) Mike Lee (UT) - 99%

So what prevented Orrin Hatch from being a 99% conservative like Mike Lee?

The conservatives need a super conservative leader and Orrin Hatch is not that type of person. Orrin has gotten lazy and a younger and stronger conservative leader needs to replace him.

“So it begs the question... Why are so many Freepers accusing Hatch of being a RINO?”

Well let me count the ways....

support of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Cass Sunstein, Stephen Breyer, and Timothy Geitner and Elana Kagan.

Hatch voted against banning earmarks

Hatch voted for Medicare Part D, the largest entitlement expansion since the Great Society… until ObamaCare
Hatch voted for and was lead sponsor of SCHIP, a massive expansion of government health insurance
Hatch voted for the Wall Street bailout (TARP)
Hatch voted for the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailout
Hatch voted to continue the auto bailout
Hatch voted to increase the debt ceiling 16 times by a total of $7.6 trillion
Hatch voted against the interstate sale of health insurance
Hatch voted to establish the Department of Education, a federal takeover of our education system
Hatch repeatedly voted for the expansion of government health care programs
Hatch repeatedly voted for wasteful and pork-laden farm subsidy programs
Hatch repeatedly voted for bills filled with pet projects and giveaways

I am sure I could come up with more but I think this should give you an idea.

Some of these people just hate Mormons and insist on repeating dopey things on thread after thread.

There are posters on FR that mis-categorize people and label them improperly.

There is one who INSISTs on claiming that others hate MORMONs; when it's been SHOWN, over and over, that the HATE is directed towards the HERESY that calls itself MormonISM.

They also claim that DOPEY things are REPEATED, but have not, as yet, produced any LINKS to these DOPEY things.

(Yeah, it'll take TWO for the REPEAT charge to stick.)

They hate one Mormon in particular.

Are you referring to Mitt Romney?

The DECEIVED Mormon?

The one, who if pressed, will claim he believes everything the MORMON religious Organization teaches; for fear of APOSTIZING?

THAT one MORMON?

How the hell does he get a 91% conservative rating? The ratings must be crap.

Isn’t Liljenquist a Tea Party conservative and a Mormon? How could this be?”

Politics makes strange bedfellows.

If somebody had told me two years ago that I'd be trying to talk people into voting for Newt Gingrich despite his past history, and now being backed by a casino mogul, I'd have said they're crazy. Two months ago I was supporting Rick Santorum despite some significant concerns. Now, however, Gingrich is now the last conservative left standing. The alternative to him is worse.

I don't have a big problem with voting for a politically conservative Mormon, though I would want to ask some important questions first to a Mormon candidate before voting for him. I'd have similar concerns about any candidate who is a member of a cult group, though I could imagine voting for such a candidate if there is no good alternative or if the candidate is really good politically despite problematic religious views, so long as I'm satisfied his religious views don't make him unacceptable on key Christian conservative political issues such as abortion and homosexual marriage.

In any event, trying to run Sen. Hatch out of Utah is not a political risk to the Republican Party since whoever wins the Republican nomination is going to win Utah anyway. I think it's a win-win — if Hatch wins, the seat stays Republican and hopefully he'll realize he needs to be more attentive to his conservative constituents; if he loses, the seat gets held by a considerably more conservative candidate since the Democratic Party has virtually no chance in Utah.

You keep making the charge without basis.

I wonder WHY??
