Obama is desperate to win-back the stupid, uneducated college boobs who helped him take the White House with "Hope and Change" ringing in their heads. Well, they got their change: they have no jobs and owe a lot of money for their degrees in Social Justice and Victims' Studies. The total is close to one trillion dollars (sound familiar?) It is a huge, huge problem. College costs are going through the roof and students are being urged to work at non-profit organizations and change the world. Studying practical subjects and getting a job is not a positive value in contemporary academia.

Universities are enabled by the nationalization of the student loan program. The best thing would for the government to scale back its lending. This is another liberal/conservative divide.
