A great white shark nearly 20 feet long and weighing 2,000 pounds was reportedly hooked by commercial fishermen in the Sea of Cortez in northwestern Mexico.
The massive catch, according to local reports by Milenio News, would be one of the longest great white sharks ever recorded if verified at a length 19.8 feet, or 6 meters.
The shark, which was dead when it was brought to the surface, was netted by fishermen named Guadalupe and Baltazar, according to reports.
"We were amazed and immediately realized that we had a huge, dead, great white shark, and then we thought 'what are we going to do?'" Guadalupe told Pisces Sportfishing in Cabo San Lucas.
The fishermen towed the shark's carcass 2 miles

Oh, and the evil slave traders who changed the feeding patterns of sharks forever by throwing slaves overboard.
We’re gunna need a bigger boat.
(in before requisite "We're gonna neeed a bigger boat" post
Damn you sir.
They’re getting big again. And they’ll get even bigger.
There’s a ban on hunting sharks, and a ban on hunting their prey. It hasn’t been this good for the Great White Shark for hundreds of years. Expect monsters in the next few decades.
LMFAO!
Puppage beat ya!
Classic example in the NYC area, where first the friendly critters came back (bunnies, turkeys, bambis and such). The were inevitably followed by their predators. Last summer we had multiple instances of people getting attacked by coyotes, including a toddler in heavily populated Rye. Black bears are eating people’s garbage. Now there’s seals, turtles and dolphins in NY harbor, and I have even seen a few in Long Island sound. What happens on land will also happen in the water. To quote Jeff Goldblum (a first for me), nature will, uh, find a way.
I thank him for giving man the ability to kill it.
Duh. Winning.
Looks fake to me.
How much do we really know about "Guadalupe and Baltazar?"
Yeah, but presidio9 beat the increasingly more obscure, but bound to appear, “Farewell and adieu to you . . .” and “Anyway, we delivered the bomb” posts.
Not only is that my favorite line in the movie, but I use it all the time. In place of where you might say "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?" Must be said with a Quint accent ("bum" instead of "bomb").
Just wait until you have a 1000 # moose walk in front of your car on the highway some early morning. That happened today in Nashua , NH.
LOL! Gotta wonder what puppage does all day, don’cha? He’s really quick!
With you 1000% on that, dead.
My brother and I were watching the famous footage of the tiger leaping up to get some poor Indian slob riding on an elephant, and we mused...”Man. What if tigers had wings and could fly!”
There was a short pause, and we both looked at each other at the same time and went “Naaahhh. They would be extinct in short order.”
Of course, that is assuming the liberals didn’t pass come kind of legislation to protect them.
Wait: Isn’t wildlife a major selling point to NH? Why else would anybody want to live there full time?
Hahahaha...isn’t it funny how the lexicon of movies makes its way into our lives?
I use the ones “Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.” or “Snakes. Why does it always have to be Snakes?”
