Monday night on Sean Hannitys Great American Panel I had a little tete-a-tete with Fox News contributor and notorious liberal wit Bob Beckel. Our exchange created a bit of a sensation because at one point during it Bob dropped the f-bomb on air. But my issue with liberals like Bob isnt their use of foul language; its their imperviousness to facts.
The exchange began during a commercial break. When Bob pulled out the class card, accusing me of being well to do (I say accusing because to many liberals, economic success is something to be ashamed of), I told him to stick to the issues and to name one of President Obamas spending programs that actually benefits Americans. Head Start was his reply.
Head Start is an early childhood development program aimed at low-income children. It, too, is an example of a failed government program.
I told Bob about a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) report released in January 2010 called the Head Start Impact Study. While the report acknowledges that four-year-olds enrolled in Head Start showed modest short-term gains in some subject areas as a result of the program, those gains disappeared after a few years, and no significant impacts were found for math skills, pre-writing, childrens promotion, or teacher report of childrens school accomplishments or abilities in any year.
In fact, according to University of Maryland professors Douglas Besharov and Douglas Call, children who are enrolled in normal day care programs receive the same educational benefits as children enrolled in Head Start, and for less than half the cost ($9,500 a year per child vs. $22,600 a year per child).

I have thought of many things to call Bob Beckel but wit was never one of them.
Just another Democrat perpetuating the war on women. It's genetic.
I agree. Whenever Beckel is on Hannity, I change channels.

Any ideas on why most Libs have an imperviousness to facts?
>>Hannity should have suspended him from the program.<<
if it wasn’t legally actionable, Hannity should have decked him on her behalf.
I still wonder why Hannity bothers to have the likes of Beckel....
&&&&
I still wonder why anyone bothers to watch Hannity the talentless.
I have an idea...it is that their overwhelming need, their compulsion to “think well of themselves” trumps reality.
As an aside, because of this blind obsession, they create starker, more dismal realities for the rest of us.
Beckel reminds me of a union boss hack! Those stupid suspenders must be to tight...they are choking off blood to his brain.
I think she meant "whit".
I’m not a huge fan of his as he isn’t as conservative as I would like. He does have the great American panel and the little footballs
I don’t mind. Thanks! :)
I couldn't let that go without fixing it.
Get it right
Hannity couldn’t deck my 90-year old grandmother and he loves Beckel.
I seldom watch Hannity, but when I do and Beckel is on...the TV is off.
Beckel is a big fat gasbag who thinks he is tough.
My children went through Head Start. They all four did well in school from Kindergarten through High School. But, this wasn’t simply as a result of attending Head Start. This was also because my wife and I worked with our children, since birth, on all the fundamentals needed before entering formal education. And, we kept on top of them throughout their educational careers K-12. Too many people who tout Headstart fail to understand, or they just don’t care, that Headstart is just one resource. By itself Headstart cannot provide what children need to be successful in school.
How racist of you...
Using a bear of color to demean our precious food stamp program.

It has to do with a fascination with utopia. They are so earnest in their desire to have their utopia that they don’t care about what gets in the way. Be it human lives, economic reality, hard scientific facts, none of these matter of they get in the way of the pursuit of this utopia.
The glorious vision they hold is so glorious in their mind that they are blind to all else.
I may be wrong on this (its been known to happen) but I seem to recall that the first head of the Headstart program resigned after a number of years saying that the whole program was a farce and a waste of money.
