Poll: Scott Walker Opens Up Lead on Opponents (PPP Poll)
National Review Online - The Corner ^ | April 16, 2012 | Christian Schneider

Ever wonder what it takes to sanitize a Daily Kos post of all the snark and pompous windbaggery? We found out today, when their very own poll showed Wisconsin governor Scott Walker opening up a lead on his two primary Democratic opponents in the pending June 5 recall election. (One imagines the Daily Kos author typing that post while looking like Sylvester the Cat having swallowed a bag of alum.)

I think we need to see the evidence before judging the Democrats’s assertion about the Walker spokeswoman.

Seek and yea shall find!

"Ciara Matthews, Walker's communications director, is under fire for being both pro-life and a former Hooters restaurant waitress."

Walker aide under fire for 'unnatural sexiness'

I think the judges have reached a unanimous decision: Not Guilty!

Yes. Greedy protectionist bass-turds. Seniority Rules, CBAs, and LIFO rules aren't "Rights." They're a VIOLATIONS of rights - of the rights of individuals to trade freely and enter service markets with superior skills. GO SCOTT!!

You are correct chicken little.

Run the sky is falling. It's projected to occur by 2013.

“I think this recall election is more important than the POTUS.”

Roger that!

Denial just ain't a river in Egypt. Facts are stubborn things. From my perspective of 68 years, America has changed immensely and not for the better. Demography is destiny. Look to CA for what our future will look like culturally, economically, and socially.

As someone who has served in war and peace around the world on behalf of this great nation, I fear for its future. The sky is really falling and no amount of hope and change will save it. The spirit of the American people is being sapped away by the siren song of the welfare state. We have frittered away the greatest dream ever dreamed.

I thought they had to vote on whether to have a recall election....that the signatures were to force Wisconsin to vote on whether they wanted a recall or not.

Guess I either misunderstood or missed hearing that Walker lost that vote.

The DEMs seem to have forgotten that this is a “pocketbook issue” election year ...

Since Walker took office, unemployment is under 7%, increased employment has increased state income tax revenue and people have more money for discretionary spending, and more tax revenue means less money being cut from state services ...

ALSO, out-of-state businesses are now looking to re-locate into WI, which further feeds the cycle in the paragraph [above] ...

People are gonna vote their pocketbooks in the election ...

I too Share pride in many of our State & local level leaders.

It is perhaps a pitty theses men are not available in Washington. But it is worth noting that heroics possable at the State level are not possible in Washington D.C. due to the size & nature of the Federal Government.

Simply putting theses men in Washington D.C. and your likely to get little better results than we have in the past. State Government’s in general work better than Washington D.C. ever did or ever could. This is true for a wide variety of reasons all related to size & structure.

Bush's fault huh?

No democrat/marxist Clinton diabolically made it easier for people to qualify for welfare and it did this right at the end of his term , right before Bush got in, all to deceive and increase socialism.Clinton also allowed illegals to reach critical mass, free trade deals etc. : face it Clinton, Obama and democrats are international marxists bent on the destruction of America and making the U.S. into a colony of the UN , a colony similar to zimbawe or marxist south Africa.

Compare Bush's 2 conservative Supreme Court nominees to the 2 marxist monsters that Obama put on the Supreme court.

Fact - Barack has done more to turn the country conservative than a John McCain win ever would.

Does that help?

Illinois Shows What Not to Do

http://www.city-journal.org/2012/22_2_snd-wisconsin.html

In January 2011, facing a forbidding budget deficit and a backlog of unpaid bills, Illinois officials decided that a massive tax increase would lay the groundwork for the state’s recovery. As Barbara Flynn Currie, the majority leader in the state house of representatives, said at the time, the nearly $7 billion in new revenues would allow Illinois to “pay our old bills and deal with the structural deficit.” The taxes passed with little controversy. Several weeks later, Wisconsin governor Scott Walker proposed fixing state and local fiscal problems by narrowing public-sector workers’ collective bargaining rights and requiring them to contribute more to their pension and health-care benefits. His reforms, which took months to become law, provoked an occupation of the capitol and set off a national debate.

Little more than a year has passed, and Illinois is right back where it started: the state’s unpaid bills now top $9 billion. Meantime, Wisconsin’s state and local governments have made substantial strides toward long-term budget stability. The different fiscal outlooks of the neighboring states illustrate a crucial fact in today’s budget wars: you can’t tax your way to a better future.

... It may not matter who is in the WH in the next four years because we may already be too far gone to be resurrected, but Obama will be pressing on the accelerator as we head off the cliff. God help us....

...fortunately, you inserted the above sentence in your post, because I was about to say that while your data is most impressive, and does indeed foretell the ultimate demise of the US as a world power, your original post indicated that if only Obama is stopped in 2012, then all will be right...your subsequent posts have made it clear that a cross of Washington and Lincoln in the WH in 2012 isn’t going to matter a hill of beans once the demographics start kicking in for real in about 25 years...hard to see in that scenario any optimism simply by denying Obama his lame duck second term...

Correct. Demography is destiny and it won't take 25 years to come to pass. Individual red states will turn purple and then blue and then dark blue. NV, CO, AZ, and VA are turning purple and states like NC and FL are headed the same way.
