The vast majority of Americans are in agreement that Hollywood and network television are harming the nations culture, according to a new survey, which also reveals they dont think celebrities should be tweeting information in criminal cases, such as Florida shooting case defendant George Zimmermans address.
The scientific poll conducted exclusively for WND by the public-opinion research and media-consulting company Wenzel Strategies shows almost three-in-four registered voters believe the media are responsible for dragging the nations culture down.
The poll revealed nearly 50 percent said Hollywood and network TV have done a great deal of harm, while another 24 percent day there has resulted a little harm.
The results are from the national telephone poll, conducted April 9-12 with a margin of error of 3.42 percent.
The questions were asked in connection to the media coverage of, and celebrity involvement in, the Trayvon Martin case in Florida. Respondents also said they strongly disagreed with the practice of celebrities using the social media outlet Twitter to send the address of Zimmerman, the neighborhood-watch participant accused of murder in the case, to followers.
And some 70 percent said they disagreed with the suggestion the average Hollywood celebrity understands the lifestyles and values of average Americans.
Further, Americans have no exalted opinion of Hollywoods elite, with more than half the respondents saying celebrities are of the same intellect as the rest of the nation, and a whopping 4 in 10 saying they are a little less or much less smart.

Count me among the 4 in 10 who think the drug addled sycophants in Hollywood are much less smart.
They’re court jesters and clowns.

Oh I wouldn’t go that far. They are on par with the average Trayvon supporter in terms of smarts.
Ditto!
If I see one more celebrity strutting their plasticized body parts pretending they are real, I am going to be sick. Everyone knows that almost all of them have plastic surgery. I am tired of this phony world.
Indeed. Have you seen Suzanne Somers lately? Chrissy Snow has turned into Joker from Batman. YEEEESH! >:(
They take their clothes off for money; what’s not to respect there?/s
They are not much less smart. A peahen that was dropped on it’s head just after being hatched is “much less smart”. Hollywoof leftists are less intelligent than aforementioned peahen.
Now, if people started to boycott the movies these folks make, you would see a change or they will earn a lot less $. I have a list of actors who I will not support because they are left wing loud-mouth idiots. Obama has brought out the worst in those that support him, including Hollywood types.
While there are some very intelligent talented people in Hollywood they are the exception not the rule. The proof being the large number of second and third generation Hollywood “Stars”. Seems much of Hollywood is more about who you are or who you know then ability. Most of Hollywood is pampered idiots and happily Hollywood is losing it’s luster fast.
Exactly.
Example A: Charlie Sheen and Example B: Smiley Virus a/k/a Miley Cyrus.
Historically speaking, the acting profession(even in Shakespears time) was seen by decent society as just above thieves and prostitution.(often the same)
They came from the the ranks of the societial outcasts. Malcontents of all types, drunkards, ner- do-wells, the lazy, the crazy, criminals, sexual diviants, runaways, .
Nothings changed. The only difference now the pays better...(Thanks to technology)
Not all celebrities are stupid;we just hear from the ones who are.
If I were a guy,I’d pick Joyce DeWitt/Janet Wood over Suzanne Somers/Chrissy Snow.
Poor Janet always gets the short end of the stick.

Miss De Witt has definitely aged more gracefully of the two of them:

It’s kind of odd she wasn’t more popular.
