Famed actor and comedian Bill Cosby on Thursday said people who are critical of President Obama are "acting like they have no idea what he inherited" at the White House.
Cosby compared the first four years of Obama's presidency to the Greek myth of Sisyphus, the king condemned to an eternity of rolling a rock up a hill only to have it fall back down to the bottom.
"I see Obama as Sisyphus in the first four years. And nobody would speak about the size of the rock, or the elevation of the hill. All you hear people talk about is what he didnt do," said Cosby on MSNBC's online show "Press Pass" with David Gregory.
"He tried to bring us together. Even to argue with radio hosts, and people who have nothing to do with anything; its important that this man has had to fight similar battles of a black person in a position in America. Hundreds of thousands and millions of people still behind him, but people who are very quietly acting like they have no idea what he inherited. Its as if he had the surplus, when he moved into office," he added.

Maybe that is what has been wrong with Obama's leadership during Obama's first term all along: Obama's staff has been living as if they were part of ancient Greek mythology instead of living in the present time of high gas prices and high unemployment.
Yes, we certainly do! GMTA as they say, huh?
Hey Bill - what’s a cubit?
Cosby better look more closely at Greek mythology. Obama exhibits what the Greeks called hubris, which meant extreme pride or arrogance and an over estimation of one’s own importance. Hubris was considered a fatal character flaw that would bring down the mighty and offended the gods. Obama better fits with the House of Atreus whose members were cursed by their hubris.
The nice bit about the story of Sisyphua, is that, just before he reached his peak, the boulder stopped and rolled back downhill. OVER Sisyphus.
I believe the boulder is scheduled for November 6, 2012. . . .
Enter Stage Left:
Obama hisself.
Nobody forced Barry to run for president.
Good point. Ill make an even better one: he has taken the problems he inherited and made all of them worse.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I’ll see your point and raise you:
People like Obama (including Obama) CAUSED the problems he inherited, and then as Pres__ent, he made them all worse. Much worse.
(Of course, the problems he caused and then made worse were all done by design and according to plan - Cloward-Piven.)
My grandson was throwing a football with the kid across the street the other day. When the kid threw the ball over his head he looked over at me and said, “She threw it too high.”
I explained to him that when that happens he shouldn’t make excuses, even when it isn’t his fault. It makes him sound like a whiner and people won’t respect him.
Obama is a failure pure and simple.
Cosby set a bad example for kids. I’m surprised Moochie hasn’t jumped all over Cosby for not putting Fat Albert on a pink slime diet!
Reagan had it worse, and had America moving upwards in TWO years!
It sure seems that for many blacks, skin color trumps all else.
*******
97% support on election day 2008.
The wagons are being circled.
Eric Holder’s brazen remark congratulating Sharpton the other day was astounding.
Gee, Bill, I see him more as Procrustes, the mythological Greek robber who used to set his victims up by inviting them to stay in his inn over night and trying to make them comfortable by cutting off as many of their limbs as necessary to make sure they fit in his bed - so Obama goes upon his merry way, restructuring the culture to take from the productive and responsible and give to the politically-connected and voting-gullible, and lopping off a law here and a constitutional protection there to make sure the final people’s paradise fits his ideological fantasy.......
The racist Cosby should stick to talking about what he knows best, the black community’s own, internal problems and failed “culture.”
Dang, you are good!
Note my Tag.
Obama would say to all that: “You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
The saddest part is that he’s doing all that with full intent, not out of incompetence. He’s willfully cutting America down to size while giving the advantage to our adversaries.
When America realizes that this is a systematic disassembling of our way of life, perhaps they will wake up.
Awesome comments. A perfect opening statement for the Republican candidate in the presidential debate.
Oh, puh-leeeeeze!
Was Sissypants a commie too?
Pray for America
Bill, that’s NO EXCUSE for doubling the deficit and smothering the economy with regulations.
