In the most ancient tome brethren, we are warned of deceit. We are warned of those whose faith is but a fleeting thing, suited only to situation and bendable as a branch in the wind. But what of the tree that sprouted it? The tree gives no way and must be verily uprooted before the storm!
But as all trees, they require maintenance to ensure their optimal growth and health, less branches broken from excessive bending lead to a messy yard. And so it was that The Great Cat didith take to pruning his hedges; mightly and with great vigor!.
And it didith transpire that dsthompson (no Jim Thompson, he) IceAge (truly a bad thing for optimal forest health), and Once-Ler (ultimately ironic considering the subject matter) didith recievith the touch of sacred steel. And much voltage.
We mourn these branches’ passing, as it is never a good thing to see a former brethren fall. But their growth had entangled them with the lines of power above them. And as any good lineman knows, branches coming into contact with high voltage results in significant outages.
And so did the fuzzy winged (legal) lawn maintenance crew descend from Valhalla to pick through the charred bits and bytes of these formerly healthy branches, loading them into the cart pulled by the eight-legged steed and delivered off to the ditch out behind fell Trollhenge, where their remains act as a leech field for the pipings of the Great Porcelain Receptacle.

You have Lamar Smith (TX) endorsing Romney in 2008, but don’t forget that he was an early endorser of Romney this time around, and in fact endorsed him back in May of last year, before he (or we) knew what the field was going to be. Plus Smith tried to push SOPA on us, which could be used to destroy websites like Free Republic. SOPA belongs in China, not the United States of America.
You conveniently avoid the basic problem. We have two people to pick from; both support abortion, both represent a degree of progressivism conservatives find repulsive. This is beyond your particular faith. We are faced with a decision with no good answer. Grown-ups do not run from the decision, we weigh the issues and “satisfice”; we make the best decision we can. You seem to be lost in the conceit of inaction. I recognize, to no great credit to me, that choosing is necessary.
I’m very hungry. On the menu is an MRE, ten years out of date that looks like the mice may have been at it or a steaming fresh plate of hyena crap. Neither looks particularly appetizing but I can make a choice. So can any grown up.
