>>Excommunicate<<

No need. She has excommunicated herself. By going against Church Doctrine, she has excluded herself. Whether silently in hear heart or publicly on a megaphone, the sin is complete.

The fact she doesn’t recognize the sin, reject the sin, atone for it and ask for forgiveness compounds the sin.

I do not personally call her a sinner (although we all are). Church Doctrine is 100% clear, though.

You know, I hear that a lot. I’ve heard it about Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, John Kerry, and a great many more high-profile “Catholics” that not only reject the Church’s teaching on major moral issues, but actively promote the opposing view and even publicly excoriate the Church for its positions.

Yet, these people are still allowed to attend Mass, they are still allowed to receive communion, they are still allowed to call themselves “Catholic” and obtain the votes of Catholics.

The Church is doing NOTHING to stop them.

The Church should be actively excommunicating them by refusing to administer any rites or sacraments to them.

They should not even be allowed to enter the Church building until they REPENT!

The Bible is clear about how you treat those who call themselves “brothers” but walk disorderly.

You are not to eat with them nor keep company with them. They must be shunned.

I can’t see any reason the bishop’s shouldn’t publicly confirm a public Catholic has nixed themselves by their own actions. There is a teaching aspect to discipline. You can’t teach without discipline. By not confirming it, they simply send the message that despite what they teach on the matter, it must not really be too big a deal when you get right down to it. Any sane first grade teacher could tell them that.

What % of Catholics have ever heard the term “latae sententiae” much less what it means?
