Give Cosby credit for not being playing the race card, but he's still not thinking this through completely. If an investigation proves Zimmerman's side of the story, "the gun" will end up being what might have saved his life.
We have a God-given right to patrol our own neighborhoods, which can be dangerous work. And if in the act of doing so we are attacked, "the gun" can come in awfully handy.
Let's also not forget that Zimmerman claims he wasn't following Trayvon Martin when the teenager attacked him.

Bill Cosby is right.
Cosby owns a Gun. And has a rare permit because he is a celebrity in NYC of all places. The New York press covered this years ago. Who in the world is He to declare that when he has a special permit. Amazing! Hypocrite? You decide.

Bill Cosby is wrong to a point.
Bill Cosby isn’t being anti-gun per se. He’s referring to the Barney Fifes, who get themselves over their heads because they have a gun.
I’ve had to handle sketchies in my time and often telling them that the police are on their way and you are merely keeping an eye on things is very effective in these situations.
Cosby’s perspective probably has a lot to do with his own son being shot to death 10+ years ago. I still don’t agree with him but haven’t walked in his shoes either.
I’m sure the rules on Neighborhood Watch vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and perhaps neighborhood to neighborhood. We did NW for 20 years and never carried any kind of weapon. We were a driving NW, just driving around the ‘hood with a NW sign. We were instructed not to even get out of the car, just call the cops to report anything suspicious.

I was just thinking the same thing: praising non-racist statements only legitimizes racism as the norm. Pretty soon we’ll have to offer a sentence reduction for criminals who can demonstrate that they committed a “non-hate crime.”
It would be way more peaceful if everyone was armed. People would know not to mess with the other guy if they knew he was armed.
Zimmerman would have been better off if also armed with a night vision video cam (it’s the new weapon).

Are you aware of what had been happening in the gated apartment complex recently? They had a rash of 8-10 burglaries recently, and an armed home invasion.
You don’t give up your 2A rights to self defense on neighborhood watch. He disengaged trayvon and trayvon re-engaged him and started beating the sh1t out of him. It was a self-defense issue, not a neighborhood watch guy playing police.
The more evidence that can be gathered, the better. I agree with you.
Oh yeah.... That's the ticket. Had the animal George Zimmerman not be carrying Trayvon would have killed him and saved the New Black Panthers tens of thousands of dollars for the contract they've issued on the "white-hispanic."
What's happened to our country?
Yes: when confronted with someone who wants to kill/harm you, it’s best if you just let them.
Otherwise the attacker’s feelings might be hurt and we couldn’t have that.....
