WASHINGTON (AP)A White House spokesman said Thursday that President Barack Obama believes women should be admitted as members to the all-male Augusta National, home of the Masters golf tournament.
White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters that Obamas personal opinion is that women should be admitted to the golf club. Carney said it was up to the club to decide but Obama told him he personally thinks women should be welcome.
Were kind of long past the time when women should be excluded from anything, Carney said.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Obamas likely challenger in the fall, said of course he would allow women in if I could run Augusta.

Well done! That does sum up the difference between the two leftists.
Good one!
I am now certain, based on both of these guys comments, that Augusta should never allow women in as long as it exists.
Besides women have plenty of women only places, what’s wrong with a safe spa e just for guys to relax and unwind without women around?
And, illegal aliens should be allowed to vote.
All mittens needs to say is that in the Obama economy no one can evenafford golf let alone a country club.
And yet men are excluded readily and easily.
When a ‘rat/liberal/Marxist talks about ANY policy,
they inherently are talking about using the force of government to impose that policy on everyone.
I’m not sure I understand the outrage here... both said that ANGC is a private organization and they can do what they want but if it were up to them they would allow female members. Seems a perfectly reasonable stance and actually the same exact one I have. The government has ZERO say so in what a private organization does with its membership. The issue is that NOW wants the government to force ANGC to admit women. Neither Obama nor Romney said they would do that.
Bad analogy. As far as I know women are not excluded from the NFL. It just so happens that there aren't any women good enough to play in the NFL (or D1 college football for that matter). that is a very different thing than being admitted to a private organization that is not based on athletic ability. ANGC is free to include or exclude anyone they want. It's not merit based like the NFL is.
Romney didn't allow that to happen with his answer.
4-7-12 Something I agree with...
Headline from Gateway Pundit spread it around especially to women.
Obama Plays Kissie-Kissie With Groups Who Shoot Women in the Head & Beat Them in Public But He Supports Women
