Two days after losing three more primaries, Rick Santorum appears to be in trouble in his home state:
Mitt Romneys taken the lead in PPPs newest poll of Rick Santorums home state of Pennsylvania. Romney has 42% to 37% for Santorum with Ron Paul at 9% and Newt Gingrich at 6%. The numbers represent a dramatic turnaround from when PPP polled the state a month ago. Romneys gained 17 points, going from 25% to 42%. Meanwhile Santorums dropped 6 points from 43% to 37%, for an overall swing of 23 points in the last four weeks.

No.
Yep... looks like it's a done deal...
Rick battled hard and achieved far more than anyone ever expected when all this started, but after PA hands Romney its delegates, it'll be time for Rick to call it a day.
To save America, .... Romney should pull out.
I agree, but he has been running for soooooooo looooooong, I don’t think he will.
PA is going to be interesting: PPP trend line is going Romney, Quinnipiac trend line went from Romney to Gingrich to Santorum.
Republican Candidates could improve their Primary vote count by campaigning with the following idea:
Due to the FHA, Fannie and Freddie Bankruptcies of September, 2008, American home owners lost 30 % of the value of their homes. That is a 30 % cut in just one month. Home values are still down 30 %.
Thus, let us cut the total compensation to all elected Federal politicians, and their staffs by 30 %, and an additional 10 % cut to elected Federal politicians each year until Federal Spending is LESS THAN the average of the previous 2 years of Federal income.
BTW, since slightly less than half of the US House, and 2/3 of the US Senate are Millionaires, it will be a great opportunity for Congress to lead by example that EVERYONE should give up their fair share of the American Dream.
What better way can there be to demonstrate that Federal politicians are on the same page as the voters?
I live in PA. People here don’t like Santorum. Some still remember the flap over the taxpayers footing the bill for his kids’ cyber education. He is perceived as ignorant and arrogant. Plus most Republicans are RINOs or even liberal. So look for voters in PA to reject him.
Money and organization plays a big role in politics. It is simple marketing economics. We could great the best tasting cola drink in the world, but Coke and Pepsi would be able to maintain their dominance in the market. I hate to watch it but both Newt and Rick have their weaknesses and Romney was able to use his campaign advantages to beat them in almost every critical state.
If the polls keep trending against Santorum in his home state I’d expect him to call it quits before the primary. After having lost his state by 18 points the last time he ran for Senate, it would be incredibly humiliating to lose it yet again to Romney. This is especially true when one considers that there is no point to it anymore, Santorum has no chance of being the nominee even if he ends up eeking out a win at home anyway.
That river is the DNC smear team drooling...
QuinPoll sux in general but [a] their PA internals were stronger (and vastly divergent from PPP); and [b] they're having a good year.

Yeah, there's something to be said for money and organization in political campaigns... even when much of the electorate knows you have no chance in the general election.
It really doesn’t matter (delegate-wise) who wins the PA primary. None of the delegates are bound. They are all free to chose who to support at the convention.
Santorum is going to need to think long and hard about this.
He has re-established himself as a major player in Republican Party politics after one of the biggest political human humiliations in history. He is in the discussion for VP. He could almost certainly demand a Cabinet post. Maybe he can make a run for governor at some point.
However, if he loses his home state in a primary, all that good work may be lost.
That would leave Newt, for whom one might have a glimmer of hope, were he not living off cash infusions from a single donor. And there's still, Ron Paul, who keeps on going apparently because the microchip in his head is stuck in a feedback loop.
Not much to say here!!! Rick Santorum, exactly like Newt Gingrich, got foot in the mouth sickness. Santorum has tons of talent, is a bonfide conservative, is relatively young, ran a great campaign, and...if he uses his God given brains, he will withdraw from the POTUS race right now, today, and while doing so, with grace, dignity and enthusiam, back Mitt Romney for POTUS!!!! Rick can and should be a future GOP POTUS, but.....if he overstays his welcome in the POTUS contest and does not avidly back the chosen nominee, he like Gingrich will destroy his future, bright political career!!!
If he acts like the moron, spoiled brat, Newt Gingrich he will kill his career, just as Newt has done himself in with self-inflicted wounds!!! Face it, folks Mitt Romney is the GOP candidate for POTUS, and...while I am not crazy about Mr. Romney, he will get my undying support and total campaign effort because for me, it is simply just ABO, Anybody But Obama!!!
Personally I think Rick will win PA. All these polls make for intersting conversation pieces but I just can’t believe Romney wins [all] his home states, Newt wins his and all of a sudden Santorum becomes the first to lose his-—may be a little close but I see Santorum winning by at least 5 points.
