There is little to no evidence that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin because Martin was black. But that hasn’t stopped members of the Congressional Black Caucus from sponsoring a resolution linking Martin to gun control and lamenting supposed racial profiling of the teenager:

Honoring the life of 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin, urging the State of Florida and others to repeal the Stand Your Ground law, and admonishing involved parties to pursue full investigations into all homicides, regardless of defenses asserted by the offender.

Whereas on February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin, an African-American youth, was horrifically shot and killed while walking from his local 7-Eleven in Sanford, Florida, because he was viewed as ‘suspicious' by George Zimmerman …

Whereas Zimmerman's unfounded assumptions and racial bias led to the use of deadly force ….

Resolved, That the House of Representatives--

(1) admonishes any State, local agency, or official acting to obstruct an open investigation or failing to fully execute their official duties in the investigation of the events surrounding the death of Trayvon Martin ….

(5) urges the repeal of the Stand Your Ground law in every applicable State, including Florida.

When this story began to break on the national level pious conservatives sought refuge in calling on the world to withhold judgment until all the facts were in. Who could argue with that?

While conservatives were tiptoeing around the racialist machine was stomping the law, the election, and reason underfoot. The truth is, the left stole the march on reason and those conservatives who would uphold the rule of law and deplore lynch mobs.

Actually, conservatives were not nearly so pious as they were pusillanimous, knowing that the media would blitz the matter and those who held truth up would get their head shot off for exposing themselves above the parapet of lies.

There is a blowback of sorts but on the whole the electorate is left confused and ignorant concerning the facts of the matter, especially if they are not regular consumers of Fox News. The vital portion of the electorate which decides elections, the independents, are left in a welter of lies and guilt.

Two ways. It's merely a house resolution, so it can't have force of law anywhere but the house. This one doesn't even bind the house.

House resolutions are typically styled as a bunch of "whereas" phrases, which amount to assertions of "fact" that justify the operative law to follow. All the libel against Zimmerman takes place in the whereas clauses. The operative part doesn't even mention Zimmerman.

Ever since this Trayvon Circus began, I have been scratching my head as to why the Democrats, Obama, the Media, and racist blacks have been trumpeting this episode.

Clearly, this was a self-defense case, and clearly, Trayvon was the aggressor.

What has emerged are many ugly facts as to why Obama, the Media, the Democrats, and racist blacks have jumped on the bandwagon:

1. Zimmerman fought back with deadly force: the victim chose to shoot back. This strikes fear into the predator class

2. It is an election year

3. Hatred and resentment against whites is always present, and the evil vermim who stand to gain the most by stoking the embers of hatred saw this case as an opportunity, period

4. The crime statistics of black on white aggression are so biased against blacks that the truth must be obscured by aberrations like this case, or else evil will be exposed to the light of day

Consider rape.

In Table 42, entitled "Personal crimes of violence, 2005, percent distribution of single-offender victimizations, based on race of victims, by type of crime and perceived race of offender," we learn that there were 111,590 white victims and 36,620 black victims of rape or sexual assault in 2005. (The number of rapes is not distinguished from those of sexual assaults; it is maddening that sexual assault, an ill-defined category that covers various types of criminal acts ranging from penetration to inappropriate touching, is conflated with the more specific crime of rape.) In the 111,590 cases in which the victim of rape or sexual assault was white, 44.5 percent of the offenders were white, and 33.6 percent of the offenders were black. In the 36,620 cases in which the victim of rape or sexual assault was black, 100 percent of the offenders were black, and 0.0 percent of the offenders were white. The table explains that 0.0 percent means that there were under 10 incidents nationally. The table does not gives statistics for Hispanic victims and offenders. But the bottom line on interracial white/black and black/white rape is clear: In the United States in 2005, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped by a black man, while between zero and ten black females were sexually assaulted or raped by a white man. What this means is that every day in the United States, over one hundred white women are raped or sexually assaulted by a black man.

What should then be our response? Outside of buying a major news network and replacing it with real journalists, how can we ever hope to compete in the minds of the independents?
