CINCINNATI (AP) -- A gay student whose southwest Ohio high school prohibited him from wearing a T-shirt designed to urge tolerance of gays is suing the school, saying it's violating his freedom of expression rights.
The mother of 16-year-old Maverick Couch filed the federal lawsuit on his behalf against Wayne Local School District and the principal of Waynesville High School, northeast of Cincinnati.

Instead of getting her son help from his local church or a psychologist, she’d rather spread it all over the world that her son is a homosexual. What a mom!
By the way, where’s dad? Wonder what he’d say about this.
16 years old, and this little homosexual wants to push his perversion on everyone else. Bet he wouldn’t be able to wear a Christian Cross on his t-shirt.
A 16 year old fag wannabe suing the taxpayers who pay taxes to the local school district. Nice! Dr. Spock sucks! Look what he’s done to the kids. Maverick needs a leather belt across his ass. My father made it work for me. Got my attention right away. Dad wasn’t “into” Dr. Spock and I’m a better person for it. We didn’t have any attention deficit in the house were I grew up.
What did mom expect to happen when she named her kid “Maverick?”
He has just as much right to wear it as to wear a “Jesus Christ is Lord” shirt or a “Gun Ownership is a RIGHT” shirt or “Abortion is dead babies” shirt.
I guess.
My Mom used to tell me that the only thing Spock’s book was good for was to spank your kids with.
wannabe?.. they get "recruited" around 11 or 12 usually from what I have read.
“. . . violating his freedom of expression rights.”
Once the democrat/government/labor union complex establishes control of an institution, it is done.
Democrats soil, corrupt and eventually destroy every institution they dominate. Our military is next.
And Christ has the right to have this punk’s works so effed up that the little bitch will never stand to pee again nor shit the same way too. God will not be mocked.
I have A.D.D. so I already know I focus on the wrong things sometimes but ,,,,
‘Maverick Couch?’
I’m crying tears here,,from laughing so hard!
Disagree? Go to Waynesville and start spewing liberal horsepoop. Betcha you won't even be sold beer in the convenience store.
The shirt purports to express Jesus’ views on homosexuality. Isn’t that bringing religion into the schools?
Fortunately the school has someone in the administration who recognizes the technique.
Seems like a set-up to me. They tell the kid to take it off, she sues. He gets his a$$ kicked, she sues. The latter would seem child abuse.
Privatize education. As long as there are government schools, there will be a struggle for control. Let parents send their kids to whatever kind of school they want. If she wants her son to go to Pansy High, that would be her choice.
Here is another example what we get through our public schools when people successfully get the Holy Scriptures out of the schools.
They argue keep religion, the bible in the churches and out of education.
What a joke! Our schools were founded by godly men, and men in the ministry (check the founding histories of our Universities, colleges, etc.)
Benjamin Rush, the youngest signer of “The Declaration of Independence,” the first treasurer of the U.S.,Dr. Rush wrote the first Chemistry textbook in America; wrote a tract upon request why: “The Bible should be taught in our public schools.”
The sixteenth century, Martin Luther wrote: “I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth.”
He continued: “I advise no one to place child where the Scripures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt.”
Psalm 9:7 reads: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
Proverbs 16:6 reads: “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged, and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”

Obvious question. The other obvious question is, "Who sexually abused this kid?"
