George Zimmerman's Sanford, Fla., neighbor, said the neighborhood watchman protected his residence from a potential burglary several weeks before the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Frank Taaffe, a former neighborhood watch captain, told CNN that his house was in the process of being robbed on Feb. 2, but Zimmerman called Sanford police, who thwarted the robbery.

"My house was being robbed, and George on his nightly rounds watched this burglary in progress, called Sanford P.D., waited for them, and helped ensure that nothing bad happened to my house," Taaffe said. "And it's documented in the 911 call for February 2. That was my residence that George Zimmerman helped stop." Zimmerman shot and killed Martin on Feb. 26.

"Neighbor-hood, that's a great word," Taaffe said.

Taaffe said that "young black males" were the perpetrators in the attempted robbery of his home. "We had eight burglaries in our neighborhood all perpetrated by young black males in the 15 months prior to Trayvon being shot," Taaffe said. "It would have been nine."

Taaffe denied that he told the New York Times that burglaries were done by "Trayvon-like dudes with their pants down."

"I never said that," he said. "I never used that term."

the fact is it doesn’t matter whether this neighbor or even zimmerman are PC-sensitive enough for the media.

What matters is that zimmermans account makes sense, and that it is supported by the evidence. Therefore if there ever is a trial and IF (big if here) it was a fair trial, zimmerman would go free based on reasonable doubt.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Oklahoma just a few weeks ago?

The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.

Can you just imagine the pain, the humiliation, the horror that dear old lady experienced being gang raped by that pack of feral animals?

(the autopsy states she was raped. Don’t think all of these animals didn’t all participate)

And can you imagine the pain, the horror of that dear old husband having to witness this?

There’s a lot more involved here than a home invasion and robbery.

Anyone else wonder about the dearth of coverage—actually TOTAL LACK OF MENTION— of the alleged fiance, her alleged house, whether Trayvon was allegedly there, the alleged kid he allegedly went to get the alleged skittles for? And of course, there is no surveillance video from the alleged 7-11 he allegedly went to, and no receipt (either in his possession or on the register records) for his alleged purchase. And what about the tox screen?

And if Trayvon’s drug use and suspensions from school were irrelevant and unrelated, then why are the media all over Zimmerman’s arrest for hitting a cop (subsequently dropped) and alleged violent domestic disturbance?

The store’s surveillance tapes could be very revealing, and not just to confirm if a purchase was made. How TM appeared mere minutes before GZ called the police might put a whole new spin on this (either way). Tends to make you think they either don’t exist, show nothing, or are prejudicial to the Martin side. (If the Skittles and Iced Tea story came from the family lawyer, maybe the police would not have even known to look for tapes or verify the Skittles story until weeks after the shooting. Was it mentioned in the initial police reports?)
Another pure speculation would fit your “guilty/paranoid” scenario: selling (or looking to sell) rather than buying/using drugs.

Sadly, I think he’s serious. He offered an erroneous defintion of the word “rob” in post 34, so I gave him a link to the Merriam-Webster dictionary entry for “rob.” Some other freepers tried to explain it to him in their own words. Rather than admit his error, he’s digging his feet in deeper. He has his own personal definition, and rather than expand his knowledge, he asks the rest of the world to conform to his ideas.

Trayvon got caught with a “burglary tool” and “jewelry that didn’t belong to him” and got suspended from school because of it. I wonder where he stole the jewelry from? I wonder if it has been identified and returned to its rightful owner(s)? I wonder if the Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms will ever have the guts to tell the whole story?
