Its a first for Wegmans in this area. Theyve put up a sign asking customers buying pork or alcohol not to use a particular checkout line when a Muslim teenager is on duty as the cashier.
The sign went up a week ago at their Lyell Avenue store.

Absolutely ridiculous. Wegman’s is a great family developed store in NYS like HEB in Texas. It is a shame to see this happen. If other faiths don’t personally eat beef do we need checkout lines that exclude that as well? I am sure Wegman’s chicken was not slaughtered as per Sharia law. So why is that permissable to be checked out?
So basically, if you buy beef, pork, and chicken you might as well put it back on the shelf because you are not checking out.
What about vegan checkers?

Perfect opportunity for an up and coming food chain to set up a store and put them out of business.
They could run weekly "Kosher" specials too.

So, I presume that there is a sign for all the Catholic cashiers, asking customers to refrain from bringing condoms, birth control pills, or other forms of contraception to their check out lines?

Folks were orgasmic when Wegmans opened their first store here in MA. They're supposed to be “the best”. Wegmans is planning to open a couple (or more) stores in MA over the next 2 years.
I'll say this, this cements my decision that I'll never set foot in a Wegmans. I'll still be sticking with Market Basket (or as I still call them, Demoulas).

Well, isn't that nice?
If someone wants to shop in an halal compliant store, they can begin by opening one of their own, not by changing an existing store and generating inconvenience for existing clientele. There are, after all, kosher grocery stores.
If any store tries this locally, I'm going to make a point of buying something "unclean" and taking it to that checkout in hopes of raising hell. When the store asks me to leave, permanently, I will gladly agree to never bring my money there again.

90% of NYC are leftists, so I guess there will be no real boycott from the dhimmi’s

How long until Wegman’s stops selling all fresh and frozen pork and any product that contains port? Is this a cheese shop or not?

Try to get a job in a drugstore, and tell them to please ask anybody getting the morning-after pill to see another clerk.
Let me know how that works.

I live in NY and teenagers can’t ring up beer (the only alcohol sold in supermarkets) anyway, they need to summon an adult to the register.
To: cripplecreek
Wegmans is local for me...
Psssst...They use pink slime in their meat....and will use it until the supply is gone....They're very expensive and I go there only for sale items.
