Hard to find truth in Zimmerman’s call to police

I’m having great difficulty locating the original full version of Zimmerman’s call to police, one that is not enhanced to make wind noise sound like a racial slur.

Certainly anybody coming forward now to support Zimmerman would have legitimate reasons to fear for their safety. Frankly, some of the unhinged comments I’ve seen even here on FR (including this thread...) are so utterly untethered from the known facts, or rational consideration of those facts, that it is difficult to imagine Zimmerman receiving a fair trial (if it comes to that.)

I’m not talking about simple speculation that he may be guilty. That’s legitimate. I’m talking about the shrill assertions that it is “obvious” that he is a lying criminal supported by a lying, incompetent, racist city government.

Without a sample of Martin's voice (and disregarding the eyewitness), we are to believe

Zimmerman had to leave his truck to "lose sight". It was then that he had his confrontation. Remember now. Zimmerman was OUTSIDE his truck and armed with a gun when he went on his mission to "maintain sight"

The question you Zimmerman supporters try to dance around was why did he have to "maintain sight"?

By his own admission he had not observed Martin committing any crime

So why was Zimmerman so obsessed with "maintaining sight"

That gun Zimmerman was carrying gave him in his mind the power to do things he might not have done in a regular setting.

In fact, given what we now know about Martin, Zimmerman's story is totally plausible. Martin was justifiably pissed at having attracted attention for walking while black in a hoodie on a dark and rainy evening with his hands in his pockets. So far, so good. But, alas, Martin caused his own death when he unwisely and unjustifiably lost it and attacked Zimmerman.
