The liberal Supreme Court justices have demonstrated profound and shocking ignorance of the American health care system. Here's one of the most jarring examples:
"What percentage of the American people who took their son or daughter to an emergency room and that child was turned away because the parent didn't have insurance," asked Sotomayor, "... do you think there's a large percentage of the American population that would stand for the death of that child -- (who) had an allergic reaction and a simple shot would have saved the child?"
I have a precise answer for Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
The percentage of American people who took their son or daughter to an emergency room and were turned away because the parent didn't have insurance is exactly zero.
No person, whether American or not, is ever turned away from an emergency room for lack of health insurance. Ever.
This simply does not happen.
Here's why:
1. It's illegal.
Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) is a U.S. Act of Congress passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). It requires hospitals to provide care to anyone needing emergency healthcare treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay. There are no reimbursement provisions. Participating hospitals may only transfer or discharge patients needing emergency treatment under their own informed consent, after stabilization, or when their condition requires transfer to a hospital better equipped to administer the treatment.
You can thank Republican President Ronald Reagan for that, for better or for worse.

Then it is us who pay for them out of increased premiums and inflated prices and such. But “technically” it is a form a slavery to mandate that someone has to do some type of service for someone else who does not pay for that service.
Medical care is a product, like anything else and is not something special, otherwise it would have been outlined in the Constitution or an Amendment would have been passed to the Constitution to say so.
Congress absolutely has the constitutional authority to nationalize the entire health care system and legally tax citizens to pay for it.
But, every Left Side Congressperson knows that government controlled national health care would NEVER pass Congress.
So, they set up a sham system.
They claim people can “choose” their insurer, “choose” their insurance policy, “choose” their doctor.
The only requirement?
People must “choose” to pay for it.
That's what this lawsuit is all about.
And it's 100% political rhetoric!
America's health care system is already controlled by government.
We're just arguing about the language.

I think you will find my view is not that small of a minority. IF it were in my power, I would start a “We won’t vote ever for Romney” movement and force the GOP to reform and only vote for a candidate approved of by the conservative (social, national defense, & fiscal) base.
Romney should never be POTUS anymore than Obama should have not ever have been POTUS or allowed to remain so. The fools that pull the strings in the “establishment” have ruined any chance of a decent candidate for POTUS.
There will be total apathy in November. As soon as Romney gets his magic number and Gingrich and Santorum drop out, I will lose all interest in the election...it will be a non-event to me. The only persons that will be happy about Romney getting the nomination will be Anne Coulter, the GOP establishment, the Mormon Cult, and Mr. Obama.
I have watched Rick Perry for years saw a little I didn't like. But anybody who carries a pistol to protect their dog against coyotes can't be all bad. Unfortunately he proved he was not ready. Palin bailed out early. Cain never appealed to me with his 999 BS. Bachman was only so-so. I don't know what to say about Santorum except that he comes off as whiney. That leaves Romney. Anybody who appealed to liberal Mass. a state that adored Ted Kennedy has got to be too liberal for me but if that is who we are left with, then he gets my vote.
Those were our choices. How you can stay home and give it to obama to continue to destroy our country is beyond anything I can imagine. I can only hope you change your mind.
I had an interesting conversation with a relative yesterday. Both of her daughters, who have been ACLU members and staunch lefties have declared that their vote for obama last time was a mistake and they will not vote for him again.

I don’t blame you for your sentiment, but think of this thread before you make a final decision. If Obama is reelected, there will be more like this lady appointed to the Supreme Court.
I don't understand that logic either; not any more than I understand the logic of Europeans & others "boycotting" elections to "deprive the opposition of legitimacy": they still won; they'll still govern; and the "boycotters" still "voted" by not voting.

I have voted for every GOP candidate for POTUS since 1976 when I first had the opportunity to vote. I was eligible in 1972, but was busy at military basic training at the time. I WILL NOT let another idiot liberal and cultest to boot be foisted on me.

First of all this isn’t Europe. Secondly, ROMNEY IS NO BETTER THAN OBAMA! I cannot, and live with myself, vote for Romney any more than I could Obama. In NO WAY does Romney represent me. IF that is the best the party has to offer, then I won’t support their idiotcy.
