Pastor Ronald Slaughter wore his Sunday best, plus a white hoodie sweatshirt as he preached his Palm Sunday sermon today.
Slaughter and members of his congregation at St. James AME Church in Newark donned hoodies in honor of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen gunned down by a neighborhood watch captain last month.
Several congregants wore their hoodies up while others sitting in the pews came in regular dress. Slaughter, who wore a white zipped up hoodie sweatshirt over a shirt and tie, and other church leaders behind the pulpit wore hoodies but did not cover their heads.

Thank you FRiend.
I hope THIS goes viral.
Who's your hero? on the front with a cross going down the side. On the back Big cross with JESUS and many of the most popular men saints!!!
America’s best two haters & would be destroyers together!!! Hoods in a Church of Christ the Lord!!! Forget it, these foks are far from being Christians!!! Casting stones with out the facts is anarchy, something Obama and Wright adore to their very core. I am sad for American Blacks. Poor souls are adrift at sea, and cannot even see the real problems they suffer from. And.....they way they act they will be adrift at sea for many years to come. A good of reality is what they need!!! Their greedy, power hungry, crooked religious, their political, their community leaders, etc. have not been good Shepoards of the flock!!! Time for a reality check!!!
Newark, the bastion of achievement and safety and cleanliness.
Yeah, if you live in the Philippines or Malaysia. Nobody makes hoodies in the US!
There are now hordes of “Obama’s & Holder’s people” gathering to try and convict Zimmerman without benefit of a court of law in which the man is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. - It seems there’s nothing Obama would like better than that he, the media, and the black “reverends” would foment a race war in this country. - So much for Martin Luther King’s non-violent methods.
Hint: If you don’t vote for Barack Baby, then you’re RACIST!
Obama celebrates Palm Sunday...
And after the service was a meet-and-greet. Congregants were encouraged to go out into the community, find hispanics, and smash their heads into the pavement. In memory of Traaaayvon.
to another. Whats the difference?
As an aside.
I did a google image search of "hoodie" and "ghetto hoodie" and EVERY single picture came back with a white person wearing a "hoodie". This one picture I posted was the first in a couple of hundred, that came back with a black person.
(Can we say "filtered by google" ?)
Idolatry.
Newark?
What is the crime rate in Newark?
nuff said
Prepared to knock off a liquor store after the services?
Nice!
We will now be able to spot the combatants the next civil war. They’ve chosen their uniforms.
I bought a “hoodie” yesterday at Goodwill. Had to have a zipper and pockets large enough for my hands. It was 1/2 off too. Woo-hoo!
A plain grey one. The hood helps prevent my rather expensive hearing aids from getting wet.
That's right - almost all black murder is done by other blacks.
In Sanford - the community-watch person was Hispanic. The 'gated community' was less than half white.
The 'racist killer' has black friends who vouch for him. The police didn't arrest him BECAUSE they thought it was self defense...
Facts are such messy.
The KKK and Black Panthers both believe they're above the law, both want 'justice' done without courts or rule of law - and both groups are comprised of thugs. Both groups traditionally voted democrat.
It's NOT 1964. Bull Conner ( a democrat) is not sheriff. George Wallace (a democrat) is not governor. Robert Byrd - a KKK member AND democrat is not a Senator from Florida. Sanford's chief of police is black. Step back ministers in hoods... step back and wake up - it's NOT 1964...
They need to read Buchanan’s column “It’s all about race now.”
Some strictly for work. Others, I have gotten on vacation from places that I go to. Like Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park. Every time I put one of these on, it reminds me of the place and the good memories or feelings it stirs.
I won't let them dictate my actions or reactions.
