Will Rogers must be turning in his grave because this is the year that Democrats are organized and do agree on something — the need to defeat the Republicans.
That means if Republicans want to win this election, it's time to unite behind the only candidate that can still win the party's nomination, Mitt Romney, and then explain to voters how the core Republican philosophy of less government and lower taxes will rally the economy.

Once the general election begins, Republicans must be sure to fight the battle on their terms. They'll have a businessman who created jobs versus a big-spending Democrat who has presided over four years of unemployment. They'll have a man who has succeeded at everything versus a failed president.
And they'll still have the issues that matter most to Americans on their side. According to a December Gallup poll, 64 percent of Americans said the biggest threat to the economy is big government, which can't be good news to Democrats, who love big government. Another 8 percent cited big labor, a Democratic Party ally. Only 26 percent said the same about big business, which traditionally is associated with Republicans.
A strong nominee, a united party, and a coherent message about the dangers of big government versus Obama and his big-government record. If that's what Republicans run with, they'll win.

The real irony in what we’re seeing displayed on this thread is that the compromise of self-evident truth, of timeless principle, while sometimes appearing on its surface to have a measure of wisdom, is in fact utter defeat, total surrender, over the long haul.
They claim to be “pragmatic” and “sensible,” not realizing that they are simply short-sighted, unto blindness.
“You reap what you sow” is still the law of nature, even if some crops take longer to come in than others.
Number One task: getting rid of Obama, no matter who the candidate.
Number Two task: gaines in conservatives in House and taking the senate.
Time to stop whining.

Yep. i figured last time we could easily survive an incompetent in the office, but sadly, I grossly underestimated the diabolical anti-American nature of the candidate, his backers, and the power players out there.
They are still at it, and have even affected the Republican primary (look at what is likely so far).
Last time, I voted for the former Alaska Governor to be a heartbeat away from residing at 1600 PA Ave., despite my dislike for the guy at the top of the ticket, with the solid hope that in 4-8 we'd be seeing her at the top.
The nomination isn't settled yet, but what ever may occur, Obama must go (and his little dog pack too).
If that were true, you would have as your tag line the fact that you are running for President and not pretend that you are an innocent bystander, that just can't stand how liberal mittens is.
You are promoting your interests, while most people at FR didn't know that under the cover of "eternal vigilance" is a no name guy, {a supporter of Alan Keyes, that's a good thing}, but making all kind "principled arguments" against mittens, while not openly disclosing your truth.
And you, like all other self serving politicians, will admit the truth, if and only if, the light of sunshine hits you directly on your cover.

I think Larry the Cable Guy would be a lot better than Obama. There is at least a large smattering of common sense there.

Whoever winds up at the helm of America, will be the one the country as a whole deserves. Our form a government was designed to be one that allowed the 'people' to self govern, with mechanisms in place to ensure it remains so.
If we join other nations in the dustbin of history, it will be God's will and our own fault for not proving ourselves worthy of his grace.
Personally, I doubt my ability to cast a vote for anyone who has failed to protect our most innocent citizens...

I could not agree more. All of the kapo talk from these people reminds me of the play, A Man for All Seasons, when Sir Thomas More asks Richard Rich “Why Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world... but for Wales?”.
They now are willing to prove their assertions and convictions are nothing more than a few faint lines on a plastic etch-a-sketch . . . but for ROMNEY? It would be funny if it weren’t so base and so tragic.

They haven't been able to stop it because of USSC decisions and stupid voters, but they are completely different from the full blown marxists that the Democrats have become.
Why didn't GWB and the Republicans pass the equivalent of Obamacare when they were in power? Why didn't they pass a trillion dollar spending bill instead of cutting taxes to get us out of recession?
There are a thousand more examples of differences between the two parties whether you want to acknowledge them or not.

Just because, out of respect for our host, who has been supporting Newt Gingrich I believe, I have not actively touted my own campaign here to date, doesn’t mean I’m hiding something.
Obviously, with the total compromise of all principle that the nomination of Mitt Romney represents, that will be changing, if the owner allows it.
Time to stop lecturing. If you are serious about convincing someone don’t insult their intelligence. And if you aren’t serious about convincing people then you have no right to criticize anyone else about being part of the problem.
They haven’t been able to stop it because they did not want to. They have wanted to manage it. The GOP is Fabian left, the Democrats are Trotsky left. Both are big government, small liberty parties. Both are globalist. This was not always so, but the elements that have dominated the GOP since the sad day reagan left office have turned the GOP into a distinction without a difference, bit by bit, compromise by compromise.
The GOP will die, and it begins this cycle. History has shown there is no need for a Menshevik party.
