The "Today" show version made shooter George Zimmerman appear to be engaged in racial profiling.
NBC News said Saturday it is investigating why its Today show broadcast an edited version of the 911 call placed by George Zimmerman the night he shot and killed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.
Both Today and MSNBC have broadcast an edited version of the call, which makes Zimmerman sound as if he were engaged in racial profiling.
"We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story," a spokeswoman for Today told THR Saturday.
Last week, Today aired a segment that included Zimmerman's call as follows: "This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black."
Today didn't inform its audience it had edited out the middle of the 911 call, which in reality went like this:
Zimmerman: "This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about."
911 operator: "Okay. And this guy, is he white black or Hispanic?"
Zimmerman: "He looks black."

Do you really expect NBC (Nothing But Crap) TV to do an honest internal investigation of itself?
This was like the Nazis showing the Red Cross a slave labor camp where they had given out blankets and clean clothes to the inmate to wear for the visitors. Then they were taken back.
The Today Show - never watch it; MSNBC - only watch before I’ve eaten. Otherwise I would puke all over Chrissy Matthews, Lawrence the Nut O’Donnell, and ED “I’ve lost my mind” Schulz, among other POS they use as talking headings (more like talking things from the other end).
Let’s see if someone is disciplined, demoted, or fired. If not, it’s just another NBC coverup.
Events are slipping out of control and may lead not only to violence but more importantly to them it has damaged their political agenda and candidate.

This is not NewsBusters reporting this, but industry heavyweight THR. That is why NBC responding to this seriously. This is a huge black mark on NBC, and Comcast is bringing the hammer down hard. Conservatives must keep the pressure strong and not let up. Because if we can expose the bias widely now, it will reap dividends in the general election campaign later if corporate brass put the kibosh on news divisions.
Anyone who gets their news from NBC or any of the other alphabets is a total moron.
Why? Because they got the word that blowing this event up all out of proportion would help Obama and the Democrats. Plus, maybe viewership would go up if a city or eight burned.

Well, I suppose in NBC's mind, that would justify Martin becoming enraged, pounding Zimmerman's head into the concrete and even going for Zimmerman's firearm to finish him off.
Don't you know racial profiling is a capital crime?
What NBC is investigating has served its purpose.
