Trayvon Martin shooting: It's not George Zimmerman crying for help on 911 recording, 2 experts say

As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot?

A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel.

His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help.

” But those who shrilly assert that it is “obvious” that Zimmerman is guilty, in my view, are basing that conclusion on something other than evaluating the known facts. And my saying that is not “defending Zimmerman.”

If the cops really believed (based upon the evidence at hand) that they had a case, they would have arrested him.
A “suspiction” is no reason to put a man on trial for murder, or even manslaughter.

I saw it somewhere, but any private voice testers hired by the Martin family, is suspect. By the way, it was inconclusive.

I meant were the analysts in fact hired by the Martin family? I could only find the one article as of last night. I’m also wondering why, if they were in fact hired by the Martin family, NBC went to great lengths to hide it?

Somebody’s dead. I don’t care if it ends up being a wrongful death case. Glad I don’t live at that HOA. Their HOA liability insurance is going to go up. A simple mugging will raise HOA premium. A wrongful death would really raise the premium. If it ain’t criminal, maybe it’s civil and Twin Retreats will pay. This HAPPENED because Georgie boy was immediately suspicious from the get go. Do you wish this had not happened at all? Dead kids are not okay by me. What happened to wounding instead of shoot to kill?

Oh man, here we go again with the Hollywood analysis.

Simply astounding.

This HAPPENED because Georgie boy was immediately suspicious from the get go.

And whose fault is that? Urban black thug culture to where so many black males have criminal records. A culture that Trayvon appeared to be embracing, if his tweets are any indication.

Do you wish this had not happened at all?

Yeah, I wish large swaths of black America would quit attacking any black teenager who wants to get an education as acting white. I wish instead that culture would embrace education, self-improvement and hard work. But that ain't happening that I can see. So we are instead stuck with a world where someone like George Zimmerman sees an unknown black male walking through his community - a community that has been subject to a fair amount of crime - and his gut instinct is to be suspicious.

Dead kids are not okay by me.

So what if Trayvon had ended up killing Zimmerman because he didn't have a gun, or decided not to use it?

What happened to wounding instead of shoot to kill?

You've been watching too many cop shows and westerns.

Travyon Martin Shooting Death Prompts Calls for Justice Department Inquiry - Lizette Alvarez - NYTimes.com - March 16, 2012

Frustration also grew after the parents said they had been told by detectives that Mr. Zimmerman had a "squeaky clean" record. They knew this, the detectives said, because Mr. Zimmerman told them.

This was addressed early on, by the Sanford Police. Zimmerman - Martin Shooting FAQ (20 kB PDF file)

Why was George Zimmerman labeled as "squeaky clean" when in fact he has a prior arrest history?

In one of the initial meetings with the father of the victim the investigator related to him the account that Mr. Zimmerman provided of the incident. At that time the investigator said that Mr. Zimmerman portrayed himself to be "squeaky clean". We are aware of the background information regarding both individuals involved in this event. We believe Mr. Martin may have misconstrued this information.

As soon as they ran his driver's license, they would have seen any record of an arrest regardless of its outcome. They would not have relied on any characterization coming from the person in question.

And without getting into that level of detail, the FAQ says the same thing. I posted this excerpt to support the proposition that Tracy Martin has erred in his interpretation of what he's been told by police. Police say "Zimmerman claimed he was squeaky clean," and Tracy heard "The police have concluded that Zimmerman is squeaky clean." Those two statements are not the same. It shows some sort of error (inattention, memory failure); or a mental deficiency to assign blame to the police for ones own failure to accurately receive a statement.

The thread I saw said the parents of Treyvon hired him...no better than if Zimmerman’s had hired him.

Martin family hired him. His allegiance is to the guy who paid him. There are many problems to this finding.

The Martin family filed for Trade Marks, and patents on their son’s name before he was even buried. They are fishing for lawsuits, and anything else they can come up with. Didn’t Martin say way back when, that it wasn’t his son on the audio?

Oh yeah. I'll get right on it.
I'll believe the experts from the New Black Panther Party over the opinion of Travon's Dad!

Yes it is my understanding that in the beginning either Martin’s mother or father denied it was Martin yelling for help.....then the lawyers got a hold of them.

If 85% is VERY VERY HIGH likelihood what does that mean for a 48% match that compares a SCREAMING agonized CRY recorded from a 911 call by a witness with a direct recorded 911 call of a SPOKEN voice?

I'll be damned.

Trayvon Martin’s father was quoted on FR a couple of places at least that the screaming voice was not his son.
