Gotta love the nanny state. Apparently that is now an order.

I think this is the same group that was pushing for a ban on *all* pointed knifes. For the good of the children, of course.

“The state does have a duty to protect children’s health and intervene where necessary....No, the parents do. Government needs to stay the hell out of the way.

Breathing it in can damage lungs and cause cancers, research has shown. I'll bet there's absolutely no proof of that. Just some slap-dash studies where a tiny bit of correlation is taken to be causation.

My Grandmother is 100 and smoked unfiltered cigarettes until she was 75. Last year she got pnuemonia and fluid in the lungs and she recovered. So much for damaged lungs from smoking. Her only problems now are deafness and failing eyesight so I assume liberals will want to ban sound and light.

I grew up with both my parents smoking. I don't smoke and never did.
One smoked unfiltered camel the other smoked marlboro.
Me & my sister breathed enough second hand smoke to sink a battle ship. We have NO problems from it. She doesn't smoke either.
If they can't tell the truth about second hand smoke then what else are the lying about.
Don't get me wrong I know it is not good for young children and should be avoided when possible. But I don't believe it is as bad as they are making it out to be since I experienced it first hand and I am 65 years old my sister is 69.

If everyone stopped smoking they’d have a bigger revenue problem than they did when they raised the top rate to 50%.

Got no scientific proof here . . . but my dad smoked constantly (a pipe, not cigarettes) and I was sick for weeks every winter with bronchitis. (I would miss school for a couple of weeks at a time, even taking boatloads of antibiotics. Nowadays, they probably wouldn’t let me move up a grade for missing too much time!) When I moved away and went to college, with no smoking in my dorm room . . . my every-winter bronchitis went away! Like magic!
Adults can choose to live, or not live, with a smoker. Kids don’t have that luxury. It’s not really fair to make your kids endure your smoke for the sake of your convenience.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health said it wanted to see smoking in cars made illegal, when children are present. "I have no doubt an outright ban on smoking in cars would have the same positive results [as banning drink-driving] - Prof Terence Stephenson Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health Why stop there? Lock up mothers who smoke while they are pregnant and those who'd seek to murder their babies with abortion chemicals.
