If Oprah doesn't start covering half of the network's losses, Discovery Networks is going to pull the plug. Grab some popcorn.

I think her people were afraid to tell her that this wouldn’t work.
She’ll probably go the GBTV route but she needs to be the front and center talent.

She could hire RUSH.
RUSH would not go with her. . . . .
So OKRA is fried. . . . .

Being a pay channel doesn’t help.

Oprah caused her own downfall when she showed what a racist she was during the last election.

“It was a top-heavy show, and Rosie didn’t really respect all the people from Harpo,” said another show staffer. “Sure, she was difficult, but what talent isn’t? There was a lack of effective management. Oprah was really in the background, letting it all happen.”

Heh...reading the rest of the story, it's clear that they still don't have a clue about why it failed.

Oprah’s BIG mistake was timing. Her career peaked at about 10 years ago.

No sense in beating around the Bush. Bad enough Oprah hired a Bull Dyke to do a show, But a fat, ugly, nasty, Bull Dyke to boot.

Nobody wants to watch that sack of crap make a fool of herself day after day.

They can toss blame around forever, but the fact is Rosie was the problem.

Winfrey and her team were banking on O’Donnell to pull viewers into the fledgling network as it struggled to get an audience.

Who would think that - O'Donnell is radioactive and malignant. The only viewers she would draw would be from the middle-aged angry overweight lesbian demographic.

My memory isn't as good as it once was (but it's good once as it ever was) but didn't Rosie's (cough) 'career' take a nose dive after she *came out* and became a real Lesbo-Nazi. Granted having a show on OWN doesn't help as nobody can find that STOO-PID channel on cable if they wanted to.

There's TV shows on cable I'd like to watch regularly like on -- shooting-guns, general outdoors shows, bass fishing, etc., but I can't find them more than once. The problem as I see it is there's too many channels on cable and no good directory.

Just glancing at Oprah’s Facebook page, I believe that Oprah herself has problems.

First clue re Oprah's problem was 'choice' of Rosie O'Donnell. Wondered then; 'what was she thinking' - (and what deomgraphic did she imagine here). Bad sign; and desperation; no excuse.

Can't imagine why anyone would want to watch an unfunny, angry shrew who enjoys throwing her militant lesbianism around.

They could have at least been honest and called it the “Mad Cow Hour”. Rosie O’Donnell is a well known role model for the mentally ill.

How much of the MSM’s lovefest for Obama could be attributed to their desire to please Oprah 2007?

If leftists in entertainment did not have an effective black list banning conservative talent, the Left everywhere would be out of business. Monopolies can only stay in business if they freeze out the opposition.

OWN is considered a “premium” channel for many cable companies (I don't know about satellite TV). This is a good thing. At least I won't be forced to watch this loser as part of my basic cable package — having MTV, VH1, and Univision, and BET are bad enough — not mentioning the shopping channels.
