A friend of George Zimmerman, the man who shot unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., told ABC News today that the voice heard howling on the tape of a 911 call was Zimmerman's, not the teen's.
The man, a black friend of the family who spoke to Zimmerman tonight, told ABC News that Zimmerman was weeping for days after the shooting, which sparked protests across the country, and he insisted that Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, is not a racist.
"We wanted to come forward because allegations of racism just aren't true. His friends speak highly of him," said attorney Greg Sonner, who has been representing Zimmerman for two weeks.
Zimmerman's friend said that the howls heard on the 911 call, which helped galvanize the nation against Zimmerman, in fact belonged to Zimmerman, not Martin.
A witness who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman told ABC News the same: the pleas for help were Zimmerman's.

Mmmmmm,Mmmmmm,Mmmmmm. Dat Lil’ boy be look’n all thugged ups! Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm!
You have hit it right on the head. Great observation.
why would an unarmed kid attack a guy with a firearm?
Happens all the time. Criminals dont stop to ask if their victim is carrying.
Hell I’ve been wearing them for over 40 years.
I agree that their actions up to that conversation were perfectly rational, and I can see myself taking the same actions.
When I refer to “poor judgment” it is this: Zimmerman could have waited for the police instead of walking into the darkness to try to spot the person he thought “might be on drugs or something.” Would I have done as he did? Probably.
Martin could have kept going that last 100 feet to home instead of turning around to confront the strange guy following him. Would I have turned around? Yeah, probably.
And that is exactly what is so tragic. I can put myself in either one’s shoes - up to that point.
The reason I lend credence to the girlfriend’s account of the conversation is that it bolster’s Zimmerman’s account - it shows Martin initiating the conversation.
There’s no doubt it happened quickly. After “Why are you here?” they only needed to explain to each other who they were and why they were there. They only needed to keep talking.
The future does look grim on a national level. There might be some regional hope. And our families of course. But at the national level, the America we grew up in is dead. The Gramscian termites won in the end.
A key bit of evidence supporting the death-match over the gun is the fact that only one round was fired, and no second round was chambered or jammed part way. The second round was still nested in the magazine, indicating the feed cycle was disrupted by hands wrapped around the pistol’s slide. IOW, a wrestling match over the gun.
The lovely and gracious Ms. Fluke hasn't completely gone away. She was just out in the People's Republic of Portland, getting an award from the local chapter of Planned Parenthood. The local Portland new media was in full gushing mode about it :-(
Call it by its' proper name, "Planned Murder".
Yup.
Right.
I read you have to take into account the type of gun it was (polymer framed) and when fired with a limp wrist you get a FTF.
It means GZ didn't gun down TM at a distance, so murder is off the table.
I would be really, really curious to know how long after the events she reported the details of this call. And if the call data records of the cell carriers involved support her account. I think the Martin family’s lawyer claims they do, on that last.
Detention in handcuffs IS arrest despite whatever legal fictions and BS the state may claim.
Detained implies kept from leaving while being forcibly moved while in physical restraints like handcuffs certainly says arrested to anyone with understanding regardless of the police using the word.
Our freedoms and rights are chipped away with cheap semantics and court decisions that allow routine roadblocks ,warrantless searches and other outrages.
Today Cincinnati police followed a black man from a convenience store robbery but could not identify him amongst all the people in a house he ran into SO THEY LEFT WITHOUT ARRESTING ANYONE! Cincinnati police did tow away the car used in the robbery escape.LOcal churches are encouraging the wearing of hoodies to services as a protest today! Black thugs must be laughing .
That’s right. A wrestling match over the gun rules out murder.
FTF would mean a cartridge was out of the magazine but not fully chambered. That is not the case here. The chambered round was fired, and the second round was still fully in the magazine. I have the identical KelTec pistol. The only way the second round would not be moving forward, is if the magazine was not fully inserted, or if somebody was grasping the slide, preventing it from moving backwards to begin the reloading process. Experts will check the gun 99 ways, and this will be borne out. The only other possible reason is the magazine was not fully inserted, hard to imagine, but possible. But if the mag was all the way in, it had to be a wrestling match for the gun, which matches the 911 recordings.
PS: The “contact distance” wrestling match over the gun scenario will also be corroborated by powder burns and blood spatter on both the shooter and the deceased.
Also, TM might have cuts on his hands matching the pistol, if the slide moved at all.
My guess is “wrestling match” will be the final determination. Hence, no murder.
