-snip-
Although Fehrnstrom is one of Romneys longest-serving aides, he, like his boss, has no roots in the conservative movement. Fehrnstrom started out as a reporter covering alderman meetings in Boston and lives in liberal Brookline, Mass. His work as a GOP operative has been confined to New England a region, as he often notes, thats pretty rocky terrain for Republicans.
To some influential conservatives, Fehrnstrom is an enigma. Its not that conservatives dont trust him. Its that some dont even know him.
Ive never heard of him. Ive been going to conservative meetings since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, and Ive never seen him anywhere, said Craig Shirley, an adviser to conservative organizations who has worked for Newt Gingrich, one of Romneys opponents.

Mr. Ferhnstrom is much more honest than Romney,
so his time is probably limited.
FERHNSTROM FLASHBACK:
"Mitt Romney went a step further in a 1978 interview with the Boston Herald.
Talking about the Mormon Church and racial discrimination, he said:
"My father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit."
"Yesterday (12/20/07), Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom acknowledged that was not true.
"Mitt Romney did not march with Martin Luther King,"
he said in an e-mail statement to the Globe.
MORE MYTHS from MYTH ROMNEY
"Mitt Romney Lies About Father Marching With Martin Luther King, Jr."
"Mitt Romney has been caught in yet another lie.
Only yesterday Romneys claim of not supporting Planned Parenthood abortion mills was abruptly smashed by a photograph surfacing of him at one of their fundraisers in 1994.
Today, its Romneys claim that his father marched with famed civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
During his Im a Mormon but it doesnt matter speech, Mitt Romney claimed he saw his father,
George Romney, marching with MLK during a 1968 civil rights march through Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
It was a stirring account of the efforts of his father to show that the Romney family have always reached across ecumenical lines.
Only one little problem
it never happened."
Against Myth Romney is 1:
"On Sunday, June 23, 1963, 125,000 people marched down Detroit's Woodward Avenue
to the Civic Center, in what was described at the time as the largest civil-rights demonstration in the nation's history.
According to the next day's account in the Holland Evening Sentinel,
the crowd at the Center "lustily booed," when representatives of Governor George W. Romney
read a proclamation declaring "Freedom March Day in Michigan." But Martin Luther King Jr. didn't fault Romney for his absence,
which the governor ascribed to his policy against public appearances on the Sabbath.
"At a news conference following the march . .
[King] refused to criticize Romney for not attending the demonstration," the Sentinel reported."
Against Myth Romney is 2:
Susan Englander, assistant editor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University, who is editing the King papers from that era,
says Myth Romney was untruthful, when she told the Globe yesterday:
"I researched this question, and indeed it is untrue that George Romney marched with [Dr.] King."
Against Myth Romney is 3:
"King never marched in Grosse Pointe, according to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society,
and had not appeared in the town at all at the time the Broder book was published.
Im quite certain of that, says Suzy Berschback, curator of the Grosse Pointe Historical Society"
Of course, you RomneyBOTs continued to attack these educated women
who have only spoken the Truth about Myth Romney and venal, odious deeds.

I don’t really care who started calling Romney Etch-a-Sketch it is very appropriate. It nails him.
You have to figure a man like Romney surrounded by brown nosing sycophants.
If elected he will be just like Obama , perhaps with less apologies, and a stronger foreign policy, but he will not get rid of Obamacare no matter what he promises, and that is essential to our survival.

So he most definitely knows of what he is speaking.

"Etch-a-Sketch" brand of politics should forever make its way into political lexicon, same as "RINO".
It is what McCain practiced four years ago, and took in many naive conservatives, combined with the RINO narrative of "inevitability". We are getting it now with Romney.
Definition? No moral core. Say anything and do anything, for tactical reasons, to be elected, even if it means reversing oneself later.
Think about it. People who could not make up their minds in early 2012 GOP primaries, then finally going down to the polls and instead of voting for maybe Cain, or Bachmann or Santorum or Gingrich, or Perry, on the spot deciding to vote for ROMNEY because "oh, heck, I guess he is conservative after all."
This is FRAUD. This is lying. This is more than clever politics.
Now we cannot believe ANYTHING ROMNEY SAYS, be it in the remaining primaries, or if he gets to the General election.
Even now, I noted that it seems he has completely dropped his "most hard-line of the pack" stance on illegal immigration. It was all script to get through the early states and conservative places using that as a conservative touchstone, only to jettison it the moment he is nominated. John McCain did the same Etch-A-Sketch tactical maneuvers when it came to illegal immigration.
Now, I call upon any illegal immigration monitoring group which gives grades, to RE-EXAMINE what they gave Romney and QUESTION HIM AGAIN to see if he has shifted his position now that New York, California and other states are coming up. I seem to recall one anti-illegal alien lobby group which gave Romney a good score on Border Issues, but now this calls of course into question which Romney was answering their questionnaire and if in fact he was in "Etch-A-Sketch" mode.
Time to start from square one with this guy on the part of all conservative public interest groups.

I think Romney is mentally deranged. Something is definitely wrong upstairs. His wires are crossed - he speaks what he wants or thinks and not reality. He’s a scary dude!

What's the gaffe?
I had not paid much attention to the Etch A Sketch furor, so I had to do a Google search this morning.
from Technorati:
Romney Camp's Blunder Gives Etch A Sketch an Unexpected Boost"
In an interview Wednesday, Eric Fehmstrom was asked about how Mitt Romney's political strategies would compare between the fall and now, if he were to sew up the Republican nomination. Fehmstrom suggested that Romney's policy positions would shift come fall. As Romney struggles to distance himself from his reputation as a political "flip-flopper", Fehmstrom said, "You hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It's almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again."

Listen to
The Mark Levin Show and you'll hear stuff like this as soon as it happens, as was the case with the Etch-A-Sketch comment made by Romney's guy.

I thought it was accurate, too, and I don't see how it's a gaffe either. I don't get all this. How does this make Santorum look bad?

Our own Sen. Minority (wimp) Mitch "go/get along-cocktail party" McConnell (RINO-E) has said to the effect..
its' too hard, to defeat/change it.. our "Dear" (dripping w/sacasm) Sen. has already conceded defeat.
I'd say, "then announce your retirement @ term; & get the hell outa the way!"
I'd fight relentlessly (to defeat this POS), for the future of our country.
