PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The city must pay nearly $900,000 after a failed effort to evict the Boy Scouts of America because of the group's ban on gays, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
The post-trial ruling is just the latest twist in a decade-long legal dispute over the Boy Scout oath, which requires members to be "morally straight."
The two sides have sought a compromise that would let the local Boy Scouts chapter keep its rent-free, city-owned headquarters without violating the national Scout policy.
However, a tentative deal struck since the city lost a court case last year has fallen apart. U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter therefore said the city must pay $877,000 for the Scouts' legal fees.

Buckwalter is as corrupt as they come. I'm very surpised by this ruling, but I suppose the law must be clear and there was no way around it without further exposing his sympathies.
Haven’t followed the case closely, other than when it started way back, the sheer audacity an organization builds you a building and donates it to the city and all it asks for is to be allowed the use the space,and some petty worthless [BLEEP] who cant figure out how genders are designed to work together for procreation decides to run them out.
Abjectly shameful. Far as I’m concerned the Scouts should take the building back in its entirety.
better yet, force them to secede... Move them to the big cities, cordon them off and leave them to the rats, bacteria and sewer people.
Well, phooey. Here I thought we had a judge that “gets it”, and it turns it’s probably a case of “no other choice” in the ruling. Dangit.

I figured they get might half of it, then I thought “maybe some kind lawyer did the work pro bono” to help the scouts out.
Then I fell on the floor laughing and finally got a grip.
White flight? That’s old already. They move, then they die out. Their kids, meanwhile, are back in the cities, trying to optimize their careers, and unaware of what has been lost. They don’t remember when America was America, as their parents knew it.

I’m not talking about white flight....I’m talking about righteous flight consisting of races of all types and economic backgrounds. We need to flee as Lot fled(and even he needed a push and protection by the angels to get out of town).

Sorry bout that, meant to say “right flight” but was in a hurry between running here and running there...and skipped a few revolutions to the comparison I intended to make to “white flight,” which DID happen in many areas. Like white flight, right flight will not result in meaningful improvement. Where the righteous go, they will not build, they will merely survive for a time and then be harvested by the Lord.
Unless you know of some far-thinking, organized nation-building types who are young, strong and determined?
That graphic is absolutely unfair. The Scouts do not want openly gay adult Scout leaders for painfully obvious reasons. They’ve already been sued by boys claiming to have been sexually assaulted by adult leaders. In the second place the Scouts are NOT explicitly Christian. They even had Jewish awards when I was a Scout. For instance, I won the Ad Altare Dei (”To the Altar of God”) award for Catholic Scouts, but there was a similar award for Jewish Scouts.
The New York City Boy Scout Council camp ground was Ten Mile River in upstate New York and the staff was predominately Jewish, absolutely no question. Our troop, which was sponsored by a Catholic parish, had a couple of black scouts who were not Catholic. We were always on very cordial terms with the Jewish staff. (I recall one of the Christian staff members told me that they called the staff “Christians” and “Lions”, a sort of gallows humour. I certainly liked and admired the Jewish staff members.)
This is actually a good thing, it'll be about $900k they won't be able to waste on something horrible.

Finally a bit of justice - Scouts' legal fees are paid and they can use their building.

Gay men infiltrated the boys scouts and were raping the heck out of boys. They got nailed in a big way in the 80’s and reformed the organization to expel and deter homosexual men from the scouts and put regulations in place to protect the kids from sneaky petes. Elton John did a concert once featuring queers dressed as boy scouts sexually dancing in the background on stage with perv John.
Homos have been trying to get back in ever since they were booted and busted. It is a great racket for them. They get to take the kidos into the woods camping and to summer camps.
The kids were totally dependent upon them and wanted their approval through the scout badge award system. The children had a personal code of honor and goodness and this is a weakness when a pervert goes after you because the pervs. know how to make the kid feel fearful, responsible and ashamed for his own abuse. They are aggressive suitors and had the grooming and abuse methodology down to a science.
Homosexual men could share the boys in a nationwide ring of perverts as they traveled state to state for events. They had the trust of parents. Society at that time, blamed the boys of sexual abuse like they often blamed girls thinking the children were asking for it or should have refused or told their parents. In those days adults did not understand the psychological and spiritual manipultion and terror used by child sex predators.

that is what pisses me off when it comes to this issue, people will not speak up because either they are just lazy or because they think people will call them a name .

I grew up on the street in a bad neighborhood but I got out and have lived in other countries and one thing which I have found is that these people seem to think they are better than rural folk, well having lived in both places and around the world I can honestly say I would certainly stand with a country person than some city elitist dweller like Megyn Kelly and her elitist pals at their cocktail parties where everyone stabs each other whilst telling each other how smart they are
