In a newly-uncovered interview from the Hyde Park Citizen newspaper circa December 28, 1995, Barack Obama explains his philosophy on income inequality in the United States, especially in light of economic difficulties:
In an environment of scarcity, where the cost of living is rising, folks begin to get angry and bitter and look for scapegoats. Historically, instead of looking at the top 5% of this country that controls all the wealth, we turn towards each other, and the Republicans have added to the fire.
In that interview, Obama explains that his perspective on the top 5% was shaped by his experiences abroad:
It's about power.

bfl....drip drip drip
Do you know what this means? Obama is a prophet! He totally predicted an organic, grassroots not astroturf Occupy movement years in advance.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Does Barry being abroad equate 3rd world sh*t holes with the USA as being morally, ethically and legally identical !?
If so, he`s an ignoramus. USA is a Constitutional Republic and free country where the rich cannot engage in monopolistic activity, fraud, embezzlement or subvert one man one vote.
Does Barry believe in Marxism and the Communist manifesto, that being the struggle between the Bourgeois and Proletarians?
If so he is still an ignoramus because Marx was wrong. There are no stratified Classes in a free country. Anyone can get rich by either working hard or have a great idea.
So, which one is it?
Money shot:
“It’s about power. My travels made me sensitive to the plight of those without power and the issues of class and inequalities as it relates to wealth and power. Anytime you have been overseas in these so-called third world countries, one thing you see is the vast disparity of wealth of those who are part of power structure and those outside of it.” 0bama
Inquiring minds want to know...what passport was he carrying?
Agree. My thoughts also as I read his words
Ignoramus is probably to kind however. Having worked 7 years in what he would describe as “third world” (southeast asia) I am dumbfounded to read of his conclusions.
While he may be correct in describing the economic plight of many third word economies, however, to compare and form ones political philosophy to that which occurs in the United States is mind boggling simplistic.
I had read that even his mentor(s) felt that he (Obama) was “academically challenged.”
And he “graduated” from Harvard? God save us all if this is the crap they are producing regarding critical thinking.
I now do believe Santorum was correct when he said his home schooled 12 year old could out debate “the one”
