The organization that ignited the tea party as a national mass movement gave Mitt Romney perhaps his biggest victory yet, deciding to drop its opposition to his candidacy, a top executive in the group told The Washington Times.
FreedomWorks, which organized the Sept. 12, 2009, mass demonstration on the Mall, says that while it will not give an explicit endorsement, the time has come for Republicans to unite around the former Massachusetts governor and focus on defeating President Obama.
It is a statistical fact that the numbers favor Mitt Romney, FreedomWorks Vice President Russ Walker told The Times on Tuesday. We are dedicated to defeating Obama and electing a conservative Senate that will help Romney repeal Obamacare and address the nations economic and spending challenges.
Mr. Romney has been winning a majority of delegates and has more than twice the number that former Sen. Rick Santorum has, and he continued that run Tuesday with a victory in Illinois.

“Ill take it a step farther. I dont think the GOP-e wants to be in power. They want their seats yes. but they do not want to be the ones responsible for the hard choices that need to be made.”
WINNER!!
Now, term limits!!
freedomworks is not the tea party. more like a republican attempt to co-opt the tea party. anyway, we simply use these umbrella groups to coordinate our actions as individuals.
my main focus is to continue to stop or slow the immoral, r-elite anointed romney, and work down ticket (especially right now in wisconsin for scott walker). that’s where the real battle is right now. IMO, the presidency is a side show, until someone gets to the magic 1200 delegates.
we did lose mazullo to the cantor and the r-elite yesterday. that was a loss. His will be done. we in the tea party will continue to do our jobs as individuals. we don’t pay attention to any wannabe “tea party generals,” like armey.
as my two cents, all these “hypothetical” romney supporters here are not close to convincing me to vote for romney. most of their arguments are un-proved propostions which i can easily construct counter arguments too, or simply falsify with historical data.
anyway romney, himself, could very easily convince me as a conservative. all he has to do at a minimum is go on the public record asking forgiveness for his past immoral positions on romneycare (medical slavery), convenience abortion (murder), and man-caused global warming (idolatry). if he did that, i could vote for him.
maybe some of his “hypothetical supporters” could convince him to do that.
You have a list ? : )
I thought maybe you, me travis, and maybe 500 other FReepers were the “LIST” : )
Yes, and we can give Romneycare to the states to decide, which would mean that my goose would be cooked - NY State already has cap & trade as it is.
Et tu Rushbo.
I’m sure I’m on someone’s list.
A few years back there was a FReeper warning others that we were going on his list. LOL
Er, make that mid 2011. :-)
Yeah, and the FReeper was banned : )
Funny how doing the right thing suddenly turns into doing the convenient thing. well, not funny, but..
I agree.. Voting Romney is like giving solyndra money. The ending is the same. we go bust. It just buys us some time. and makes the crash worse.
We are stuck with Romney or Obama. Make your choice. I still would rather hit the wall at 70mph rather than at 140mph
Your analogy is spot on. The only difference between 70 and 140 is it takes a hair longer to get to the wall and crash. The end result is the same. Couple that with people like soros and others in the passengers seat who plan on stomping on romenys foot pushing the car up to 140 anyways and we are screwed.
I forgot about Perry-I actually miss him!
TEA Party? Freedom work? I have never considered them TEA Party, it’s Dick Armey for crying out loud.
LIBTARD MEDIA SPIN FOLKS!!! IGNORE THEM AND THEY WILL GO AWAY
By this time last go-’round they had foisted McLame on us- they are NOT having such and easy time with romney
ROMNEY CAN NOT WIN (and I am not just saying that)
He needs about 80% of the vote in all the remaining primaries to win it outright
THIS IS GOING TO THE CONVENTION
Agreed. I receive emails constantly from Freedom Works. It’s the same old story as with most of these think-tanks and issue organizations. They dream up scare stories about the enemy so that folks will send them money and sign phony petitions that politicians never read. They use the money to pay themselves handsomely so they can sit around and do nothing but send out more fundraising emails. Beats working.
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
. . . and screw Jeb Bush!!!!! I am a “tea party” supporter and member and I won't support that RINO McRomney under any circumstance. The establishment RINO’s is why we are in the mess we are in!!
Anyone who believes McRomney is a “conservative” needs to seek professional help, they enjoy a challenge!
