Exclusive: Bell's Critical Race Theory Promoted in Public Schools

A radical organization known as the Pacific Educational Group (PEG) is actively promoting Derrick Bell’s Critical Race Theory in public elementary and high schools nationwide, with an intense focus on what PEG calls “Systemic Racism.”

With the approval of the Obama administration, and under the guise of closing achievement gaps between black and white students, PEG is promoting teaching methods that discourage “black and brown” students from conforming to an inherently “white” -- and therefore racist -- curriculum.

PEG also encourages teachers to conform to the presumed cultural backgrounds of students, rather than focusing on norms of assessment and accountability.

Breitbart.com was alerted to the activity of PEG within schools by readers who responded to our reporting on President Barack Obama’s endorsement of Bell and his use of Critical Race Theory in his lectures at the University of Chicago.

Subsequent investigation led to the revelation that Critical Race Theory is being introduced nationwide through the efforts of PEG.

Based on this bogus theory, the study of engineering is racist. Riiiiight. When I was in college, there were some engineering students from African countries. They did not look too kindly at the urban ghetto culture and those who adhered to it.

I’ll kick off the list with Arkansas’ Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD). Lawsuits are flying. I highly recommend EVERYONE read the lawsuit filed by PCSSD Deputy Superintendent June Elliot against Former PCSSD Superintendent Charles Hopson. CRT indeed! You won’t believe it! Link:

The Arkansas State Department of Education took over the District, terminated Superintendent Charles Hopson and dissolved the School Board. Former Superintendent Hopson has filed a suit due to his termination. A copy of Mr. Hopson’s lawsuit and other information (including shenanigans with the Board)can be found here:

Breitbart.com contacted PEG for details about more school districts in which it has been involved. PEG declined to provide precise information, but indicated that it had been active in “hundreds” of school districts over twenty years.

Three board members requested the agenda item, which proposed “disassociation” from the Pacific Education Group, which offers training on race and equity issues, and Performance Fact Inc., hired in 2010 to create a three-year strategic plan for the district.

Those board members were Gwen Williams, Tom Stuthard and Vice President Gloria Lawrence, who moved to approve the item Tuesday.

Lawrence proposed replacing Pacific Education Group, which she has heavily criticized in the past, with in-state vendors approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.

At Superintendent Charles Hopson’s urging, the School Board on Oct. 12 approved a contract for $281,000 plus travel costs with the Pacific Education Group, despite Lawrence’s concerns — based at the time on a report from the Internet — about the reputation of the organization.

That report accused the organization of being biased, hateful and insulting to teachers in the name of diversity training, Lawrence said.

I thought that rejection of normal standards (both academic and behavioral) as “white” was some cultural artifact of a militant fringe.

Who in this movement actually believes you can reject the standards of the majority of society and have a successful individual outcome?
I know - they intend to DESTROY those standards and replace them with their own. But good luck with that.

Here in liberal Portland, OR the school system has bought into it - not a shocker but disappointing as they are always crying for more money but then have thousands of $$$ to send administrators to the PEG seminars.
