I am new to Free Republic. I look forward to being a small part of this community.
I see by many of the postings that most of the posters on this website are ANTI-Romney. That is good because I am too. I am a conservative from Tallahassee, Florida.
I am torn between Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. Reading some of the postings I see there are passionate folks on the Newt side as well as on the Rick side.
I am leaning toward Rick Santorum because I think he can best beat Romney in the Primary and frankly I think ANYONE can beat Obama in the general. So my gut tells me to support the most conservative in the race.
I am also a Christian Homeschooling dad so you might see why I favor Rick Santorum but I can support Newt in the general election should he win the nomination. I don't think I can stomach voting for Romney though.
Any advise for a newbie?

Yes, we “hat” Romney, but then we also “hat” any liberal. We have never had any tolerance here for liberals, democrat or republican. As for humor, you can still find it here, but there is a new seriousness born of the dire situation this country is in. It’s hard to make light when your country is being destroyed before your eyes and there are so many people suffering all around us.
As for your opinion of the owner — you may well get your wish to never post again. As for voting for Romney, you must be a liberal anyway and this is a conservative forum. Huffington Post and DU would probably be more to your liking. Have fun with the libs especially your socialist friend Mittens.
While understanding that you likely have kid/household duties to tend to, popping in with a reply before the night's over would be wise.
Most of us are a congenial enough bunch, but if a couple of the resident pirhana think they sniff something amiss, they'll be on ya like white on rice.

Welcome, TPD. I am torn between Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum as well. We need to unite behind one candidate and soon. My biggest fear is that Romney will slip through the cracks because we are so divided.

Unlike the old days in here, profile pages seem to have gone the way of our national sanity.
Dunno if it's from general paranoia or what, but a lot of 'em were fun/interesting/informative and they're missed.
But after several big FReeps in DC over the years, the gestapo's had me on their list for ages.
So to hell with 'em, I'm leavin' mine up .. they won't get this ol'fella alive to put on any cattle car anyway !

He lived in a house. It was near some railroad tracks in a town named “Griffith” in Northwest Indiana. (Of course, ~every~ house in Griffith is near some railroad tracks.)
