McCain is scheduled to campaign for Romney in the Chicago area on Monday. But former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar, a McCain backer last time, has rebuffed entreaties from the Romney camp and is sitting out this year's presidential primary. In an interview, he described the GOP election as a "lesser of the evils" choice and expressed concern over Romney's prospects in the fall.
"With how far he's moving to the right," Edgar said, "it's going to be a little bit harder now for him to win than it was a year ago, when he was viewed as more of a moderate."
Jim Edgar sounds like a real winner. He backed McCain, and now he's opposed to Romney. Why? Romney is TOO conservative for him. He says we need a moderate like McCain to win. Uhhh, McCain lost.
List Ping!
My sister saw Santorum with Candy Crowley (yes, she watches CNN) in an interview today. Said Santorum did great. When Candy mentioned Mitt’s vast business experience, Rick countered with the facts. Said he’s been winning states on a shoestring budget which shows how he handles money and organization
On the other hand Romney’s been outspending him 10 to 1 and losing those states. So how are his financial and organizational skills. Excellent point and I wish Rick would get it out there more.
Rick is careful with his money whereas Romney is a typical pol who thinks it’s Monopoly cash.
I am very happy to have left Illinois back in 1998. It has gone from a centrist state to an extreme left wing state. It used to be Land of Lincoln, now it is the land of Obama, the radical socialist. Chicago is among the top 3 most corrupt cities. Chicago once sent me a parking ticket while I had never even visited city limits in couple of years.
I have disliked most GOP candidates since 1988. Bishop Willard however is the first national Republican figure that I can say I utterly and absolutely detest. He is worse than a Democrat. His policies are indistinguishable from the Democrat left, and he is WITHIN OUR CAMP.
I’m not going to vote for Mitt, the way he’s played this..I don’t trust him!
Statewide polling that once showed a tight race is now tilting Romney’s way.

Once again, Romney’s money buys enough attack ads to overtake Rick when he is leading in a State. This is the fourth (4th) time Rick had a comfortable lead in a State and Romney overtakes him and wins.
