"Former Mayor Ed Koch is back on President Obamas side and will be by his side during a fancy White House bash Wednesday with British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Koch said he scored an invite to the swanky soiree in honor of Cameron and his wife, Samantha.
Koch, a Democrat, raised eyebrows and ire last year when he backed Republican Bob Turner over Democrat David Weprin in the special election to replace disgraced ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner in a Queens-Brooklyn district.
Koch said the cross-party endorsement was to send a message to Obama to be a better friend to Israel and to not to take Jewish support for granted.
Apparently, President Obama got the message and I am back on the reelection bus . . . and he invited me to attend tomorrow nights state dinner for Cameron, he said.
In September, Koch formally reendorsed Obama, saying the Presidents United Nations speech against the Palestinian push for statehood had repaired the breach.
A White House spokesman could not confirm the invite."
I’m surprised, not terribly of course, but if you had asked me, I would have thought that this would be one of those times that he left the reservation, especially since he probably assumes that the moderate Romney will be be the nominee for the GOP.
Ed Koch still living. Who knew?!
Absolutely no surprise here. I predicted it back in 2010 when he supported Bob Turner. Koch always teases the voting public with an out of the box endorsement, when it will not have an impact in a big way. He picks his moments to seem above the fray. It is like a Democrat in Congress from a conservative leaning district who votes against Pelosi only after the Dems do not need his vote. Koch will always stand by the Left when they need him. When they do not need him, he will play his games with us.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

This should come as no surprise. Like voting, political support is based on many issues, and Israel is down the list. Isral or free birth control and abortions, Israel loses, it's a moral issue.
If he thinks Obama has turned around on Israel merely because of a speech to the UN, he's grasping for straws in order to justify his partisanship to the 'Rat cause.
The main reason for Koch's support of Obama is that they both love big government domestically, which is a core principle (if there is such a thing) of their party of tyranny. There is no way that Koch can endorse Obama for re-election and at the same time claim that the security and survival of Israel is of paramount importance to him.
Not this election.
I hear that every single election and every single time its the same. Jews vote overwhelmingly for democrats. I would really be surprised to see it change in my lifetime.
Thanks for the interesting link.
Koch has long been befuddled and long been someone who says x one day and y the next.
A group of young Turks are using him and his name and his face to push the Marxist economic and homosexual agenda. He’s so flattered to think that he is “still relevant.” Just when something in him says, “Israel’s not being treated fairly and is in danger,” his Leftist advisors reign him in and set him back on their Obaminable track.
This link and the comments there sum up the harm Koch is doing.
LOL!!!
Yet I agree with her completely. I pointed out in my post # 27 that Koch is senile - yet the MSM still treats him as if he is the big power who reflects the views of the American Jewish community.
At this stage of his life, Koch is only a legend in his own mind.
I'm not disputing you on that, but do you have in mind any specific names or groups who are part of those "young Turks"?
old fool.
Yes, some days he does love America and Israel. For example, he wrote the following open letter to the New York Times a few months ago:
To the New York Times: calling for the murder of Jews by those capable of having their incitement taken seriously isn’t news

But, he’s not sitting at home. Koch is featured as head of www.nyuprising.org/ I wonder who chose the name....
He’s a case study in inconsistency. Alan Dershowitz also suffers from the syndrome.
