Higher gas prices push inflation rate increase to 10-month high

In another sign that higher gas prices are squeezing consumers, the government's monthly measure of inflation rose in February at the strongest pace since last April.

The consumer price index jumped 0.4% last month from January, mostly because of energy prices, which increased 3.2% over the month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. Compared to a year ago, the February inflation index was up 2.9%, the same annual rate as in January.

Even this report tries to sugarcoat Obama's failed economic policies because energy prices, mainly gas, has actually increased over 10% in one month.

They can put out all the phoney numbers they want. When people drive to work and pass the gas station they can see inflation. When they go to the grocery store and the the pound of coffee that cost $3.99 last year is now $5.99 and it’s only 12 oz and the box of cereal that was $2.79 is now $4.00 they know inflation is real and if they’re paying attention they know which kenyan Marxist to put the blame on.

For the record: March 16, 10:46 a.m.: The headline on an earlier version of this post mistakenly said the inflation rate was at a 10-month high. It was the inflation rate increase that attained that high.

Careful reading of the article reveals that it NEVER mentions what the inflation rate (suppoedly) is.

It ONLY deals with percentage increases in that rate overvarious time periods, while conveying the impression that the rate increase In February, core inflation edged up just 0.1% from January and was up 2.2% from February 2011, close to the Fed's explicit target of 2%. is the actual rate.

The cost of motor fuel is one of those factors that have a chain-reaction effect on EVERY product, transaction or service performed in this country, and just about everywhere in the world. The idea that we could ever “conserve” our way out of the deepening crisis of inordinate price increases is ludicrous on the face of it. It takes just so many gallons of fuel to propel a certain weight over the road for a given distance, there are few if any ways to move that figure by very much without making huge expenditures in upgrading the equipment for some marginal efficiency that may never be paid back due to the ever-increasing cost of the fuel.

We have a plentiful and relatively inexpensive fuel source available for distribution right now - natural gas. We have so much, in fact, that the inexorable law of supply and demand has driven the price down far below its recent highs.

There are ways of taking the components of natural gas, and by applying industrial-level processes, convert it into a very high grade of either gasoline or Diesel fuel. So long as the price of natural gas remains at this much lower level relative to crude petroleum, it is economically feasible to build the infrastructure to produce this quality fuel.

Yet the Current Occupant of the Oval Office thinks that tapping into our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, to artificially suppress the fuel prices, is a good idea. It is not, for a number of reasons, chief of which that is not at all what the SPR is for - its purpose was always meant to be the fuel supply for our military vehicles and airplanes, should overseas supplies be cut off in periods of international strife. Also, the reserve, if drawn down, MUST be replenished, and without prospect of cheaper oil to refill the reserve, to empty out the reserve now is only kicking the can down the road, when it shall cost a great deal more to replenish.

But the worst mischief would be to distort the market, for only a short time, as there simply is not enough in the SPR to carry the country more than a few weeks at best. The rebound in prices later would be all the sharper, and no long-term benefit would result.

The Current Occupant has been quick to point fingers at “speculators”, but a careful tracing of the money, should there ever be an earnest effort to proceed, would show that the “manipulators” are most probably also very large contributors to the whole agenda of the corrupt regime now in the Oval Office.

George Soros has made himself famous, or infamous, throughout the world as a currency speculator, and international trade of petroleum is just another form of currency. Speaking of “malefactors of great wealth”, Soros makes the robber barons of old look like pikers, and if an audit of his international dealings were ever possible, he would prove to be a bigger player than Bernie Madoff could ever have hoped. At any given time, there are probably several nationally-based Ponzi schemes going on, sucking up most of the loose money out there, which are then covered by pressure on nations already deeply in debt, by getting other countries with somewhat better balance sheets to buy up all this essentially worthless paper from the countries going insolvent.

Meanwhile, the Soros combine is sitting on literally TONS of gold, basically controlling the price on a day to day basis by either buying up, as prices tend to drop, or by flooding the market when prices start to rise too much. The various officials that control the treasuries of each country thus afflicted, are always on a short string, dancing at a moment’s notice.

We owe a large part of the grief this country is now undergoing, not so much to some faceless international cartel of bankers, but to one focus among all those financiers, the George Soros international combine. Lord knows he has spread the grief to a number of other countries, the United States being only the most recent of his targets. Single-handedly, he brough the Bank of England to a crisis, and there is a warrant for his arrest outstanding in France, for stock manipulations there.

None of this is new information, nor is it particularly inaccurate. Just that there is nobody with the ferocious nature to go after this enbodiment of cynical parasitical practices.

The cost of motor fuel is one of those factors that have a chain-reaction effect on EVERY product, transaction or service performed in this country,

And THIS is what Newt needs to add to his campaign - he needs to also make an ad in front of a grocery checkout = etc.

BULLETIN: Trucks run on gas.

IF YOU BOUGHT IT - A TRUCK BROUGHT IT.

This administration is putting the squeeze on the trucking industry from every angle, the price of gas being the one we most recognize.

Tens of thousands of truckers and over 3,000 trucking companies have lost their jobs/businesses since obamamam took office. Trucking companies are being squeezed down to a few big ones - easier to control - or take over.

The O/O truckers are hurting from the rise in fuel costs, the trucking companies pass their increase on to the shipping companies who pass it on to the super markets et al and our food (clothing, everything) prices skyrocket.

I have suspicioned for 3 years that this cabal in DC would love to take over the trucking industry.

The despots creed: "WHO CONTROLS THE FOOD, CONTROLS THE PEOPLE."

Our supermarkets have TWO DAYS food supply for the local areas. You all know what happens when a blizzard or hurricane is predicted. The shelves are cleared in a frenzy.

Those trucks stop rolling, even for one day - there will be panic.

Listen to the truckers in this video - push the slider to minute marker 1:30 - (live link next post)

This administration has taken over GM, college loans, ObamamCare,e tc - think he wouldn't take the biggest control prize of all - that controls food?

HOw long can YOU feed yourself/family if the store shelves are bare? (Don't come to MY door for lamp oil and wicks)

Inflation is caused by the government destroying the dollar. Increases in prices are the result; they are not the inflation itself.
