In 1953 gas was 25 cents a gallon- But a quarter in 1953 was pure silver.
Now funny money printed by the govt ain`t worth anything much compared to 1953, so the more funny money the govt prints, the higher the gas price goes.

The quarter was only 90% pure. And today a silver quarter will buy about 1.5 gallons of gas.
