Executive Producer Jeff Zucker today announced key production updates for Katie Courics highly anticipated nationally syndicated talk show, Katie. The daily, live show has already been cleared in 94% of the country, and will premiere on Monday, September 10, 2012. The show is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.
In an internal webcast to television stations who will air Katie, Zucker unveiled the shows logo, and announced additions to the senior production staff including Director Joe Terry, who has spent the last 14 years as Director for The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Co-Executive Producer Kathy Samuels. Samuels is a producer with nearly 20 years of television experience, including live television and daytime talk show programming at NBC, Paramount Domestic, and CBS, and has been a part of several successful launch teams including Rachael Ray and Access Hollywood. Zucker will serve as the day-to-day showrunner.
The webcast was conducted from TV One at ABCs Manhattan headquarters, which will serve as home to the Katie set. The studio itself has a rich history, having served as the backdrop to the Kennedy/Nixon President debates, and has housed broadcast programming including Good Morning America and election night coverage. Katie will broadcast live, daily, in front of a studio audience.
Katie and I are thrilled to share these updates with our partners and Katies fans, said Zucker. We now have our studio, a great-looking logo that exudes all of the qualities that we want the show to convey, and a terrific team with a diverse background of experience. We couldnt be more excited about September 10. It's going to be a lot of fun." Katie Couric is an award-winning journalist, best-selling author and popular TV personality. In addition to hosting the new nationally syndicated program Katie, Couric is also a member of the ABC News team.

Here's hoping to a spectacular crash-and-burn debut!
“highly anticipated”! LOL!
Considering all the other worthless crap that seems to be popular on TV, how can it miss?
But she’s so cute ‘n’ perky. How can you say that?
I predict Katie will have as much success as Rosie.
She is a failure, who wanted her? Maybe an advertiser for menopause?
Holmes or Hepburn?
DOA IMHO
Remind me to miss it.
The media is determined to force this bag on the world as long as they can prop her up in front of a camera.
Think Dan Rather. He is exiled to where nobody actually watches him
All those network News producers sitting around a gin mill (or Twitter) trying to figure out a way to ‘recycle’ an aging info-babe. Now they think because their inside baseball talk is interesting to them that makes it “highly anticipated.” What a bunch of schmucks!
I’m sure that Katie will be way overpaid for this gig, too!
Obama needs her. He's sagging in the female demographic. That's why all this nonsense about birth control.
Katie's airing this show right after Labor Day, so it'll be contributing to the Anti-Republican "noise machine" this Fall. Once the election is over, she'll be cancelled. Mid-January... absolute latest. By then her work will be done.
Remind me to miss it.
yeah me too!!! lol
I for one won’t be watching.
Everytime I see her name now, it reminds me of the ‘dirty dancing’ photo’s of her in front of young girls. And her bragging about buying her daughter/s Islamic alarm clocks...
I have been unable to stand the sight of her ever since I read some article fawning all over her for her bravery in going back to work, because her husband had died a year ago, and she was so brave. My mom went back to work 4 days after my dad died, so I really throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I hear that Harpy’s nails down a chalkboard voice.
