Bill Maher spoke with ABC’s Jake Tapper about whether there was a double standard for liberals using offensive language towards conservative women. In the interview, the HBO host responded to the criticism over his obscene remarks about former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and defended calling her the c-word.
Tapper asked Maher, in the wake of the controversy over Rush Limbaugh‘s comments about Sandra Fluke, whether there was a double standard, with the media accepting offensive language when it is used by liberals against conservative women. “Is that a fair comparison? You have certainly used offensive words to describe some politicians you don’t like.”
“I’m a comedian, not just a guy who says he is, like Rush, but someone who -– well, you saw me do stand-up last year in D.C. There’s a big difference between just saying you’re a comedian and going out and getting thousands of people to laugh hard for 90 minutes,” Maher argued.

It was a faux hearing that wasn’t official, but staged as a photo-op to be broadcast. Well when you do something to be broadcast....

When this slut decided to testify about her sex life she became a public figure and that is what Rush was talking about. Also if she had that many sexual partners I would consider her a very public figure.
If memory serves me correctly, Palin had quit as Gov of AK and was a private figure at the time of Maher calling her names. Same with Letterman and Baher and Griffin.
Perhaps they are envisioning something else standing up than the comedian on his legs.

Pelosi’s daughter, Maher unite to bash the South

As Alabama and Mississippi prepared for their Tuesday primaries, the water was warm for “aren’t Southerners stupid” jokes on HBO’s “Real Time” Friday night. But host Bill Maher went a step further, deploying House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s daughter to Missisippi to find out just how dumb voters are down in the South.
Maher claimed that Pelosi’s daughter, documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, told him she “did not seek out people who look like what some would say [are] rednecks.”
Pelosi told Maher, “If you took any of the footage we didn’t use, it would look just like the footage we did use.”
Pelosi’s film naturally begins with a stereotypical rendition of “Dixie” and stills of run-down homes. As narrator, Pelosi then points out that Mississippi is the most conservative — and poorest — state in the country.
Pelosi then proceeds to press a number of poor white men on why they are conservatives.
The footage has to be seen to be believed, if only because of how unrepresentative Pelosi’s sample is throughout the film. Pelosi only interviewed white men for the project, even though recent census data shows that the state is 51.4 percent female and just 59.1 percent white.
Nonetheless, the Maher panel appeared relieved that its stereotypes of the South were confirmed by Pelosi’s small, unrepresentative sample.
“By the way, she said she cut out 20 people who also did not have teeth,” Maher said. “Just so you know that is wasn’t like, ‘Oh we’re just going to show the guy with no teeth.’ She had to cut out a lot of people who also didn’t have teeth.”
Maher said he plans to send Pelosi to the inner city in the future.

So Maher is saying that Palin is not a civilian..Liberals will always make excuses for the crap that comes out of their mouth..Maher hates Palin, his audience hates her, so he feels justified in calling her those disgusting words, bet he wouldn’t have the guts to say it to her face, he knows she would kick his ass
