Marines waiting for Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to speak at Camp Leatherneck were ordered by Sgt Maj. Brandon Hall to go out and leave their weapons outside the room. Panetta arrived in Afghanistan Wednesday for a two-day visit amidst heightened tensions after an American soldier was alleged to have killed 16 Afghan civilians.
It was an unusual request as it is not customary to disarm for a defense secretary visits.
The Marines did as they were told. There were about two dozen Afghan soldiers in attendance who were unarmed.
Hall was told to do so by Maj. Gen. Mark Gurganus, who commands troops in Helmand province. Asked about the order to disarm, Hall told the New York Times's Elisabeth Bumiller: “Somebody got itchy, that’s all I’ve got to say. Somebody got itchy; we just adjust.” The Times was told

OK so they ordered Marines in a war in the FIELD to undergo Gay Sensitivity Training, then a lot of their fellow Marines were RIF’ed out, and then for this visit after this traged, they considered the question:
“What might a REASONABLE person do...?”
And THEN these guys were told to remove their weapons —that says a VERY lot about what the leadership thinks about their own leadership.
Panetta is a left communist who works for a fasacist president. INteresting that someone thinks he might get bumped off. And the last time I checked the USMC would not need a gun to do it.Disarming would not prevent Panetta’s demise if it was planned.

IIRC, even that bastard FDR, and even Harry T rode back and forth across the Atlantic in a US Battleship; I never read one word about our sailors having to disarm. Harry even ate with the troops in ship’s mess.

The next step is a Praetorian Guard to protect the administration from it's own troops. I'm sure the irony and insult of disarming the Marine's whose motto is Semper Fidelis will escape these leftist morons.
What Panetta desperately needs to remember is that Semper Fidelis is to the Constitution.

Reminds me of what the government wants all of us to do — disarm.
I suspect that this action by this official reflects his knowledge of the hatred people feel towards the trash in government. In a Republic those who govern do so by having the love and respect of the governed. The people currently in office do not have the love and respect of the governed. All they have is our contempt!
