As advertisers keep joining in on the Rush Limbaugh boycott, one company only lasted a week before it went back to the conservative talk show host with its tail between its legs. But Limbaugh is not ready to forgive and forget.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Sleep Train, which had advertised with Limbaugh for 25 years, asked to relaunch a "voiced endorsement" on Limbaugh's show on Thursday ... and they were turned down.
The funny thing is, Sleep Train was the first advertiser to pull its ads from Limbaugh's show. After receiving a slew of angry messages for advertising on Limbaugh's show after he called a Georgetown law student a "prostitute" for advocating for inclusion of birth control in insurance plans, the mattress company Tweeted:
We don't condone negative comments directed toward any group. In response, we are currently pulling our ads from Rush with Rush Limbaugh.

How much Snapple have you seen in the stores since they were bought out years ago, as I recall it was Pepsico, and they quit advertising with Rush. I quit buying and as I recall the amount of shelf space diminished until it was gone, I don’t recall seeing any for years.
These are the magic words.
Rush IS the EIB network.
He is not an employee.
LifeLock was NOT one of the advertisers who pulled their Limbaugh account.
In the face of the current spate of articles about Rush bleeding advertisers it is important to remember that the media are liars. Most of these articles are either factually incorrect or wildly distorted and misrepresented.
Neat picture Laz!
Just ordered Liberty Intrigue
Thank you.
Name of the book mentioned on the Rush Limbaugh show. So you see what I mean.
Wrote to Bare Escentuals and did get a response. They said they weren’t political. But I am spreading the news I won’t use the makeup and why to everyone I know.
LOL. And I don't LOL at much.
That’s fine! We still have the option not to buy from them.
Amazing how capitalism and freedom to exercise it works, eh?
That was my argument some days ago when this broke on Yahoo and all the Lefties were crowing. I mentioned that these fleeing companies were foolish because the attention span of the Left is like that of a school of spooked minnows, and would soon dart off on to the next Outrage of the Week, leaving the advertisers to watch their bottom like shrink. And . . . the protesters probably never bought much, if any, of the companies' products to begin with.
Go back and reread the post I was responding to. I never initially said a word about Snapple. Whatever the events, Rush did start a competing product line, and that was what I was commenting on.
No, someone who worked at a little radio station in Mississippi totally out of the loop claimed inside knowledge that Carbonite was back. As I responded at the time, the poster Had. No. Clue.
Feel free to steal. I did!
They damn sure better remember it. When you dis your customers because left-wing kooks email your company and you side with the kooks you will lose business that will never come back. A good thing to remember!
It wouldn't do Rush any good to take them back because his listeners were the ones these companies were dissing! They can KMA because I will never buy anything from them again.
Fluke Limbaugh fallout: Carbonite now Kryptonite for investors
WASHINGTON, March 13, 2012 Taking political cheap shots at conservatives is fun for both the usual perps and the preening media talking heads that adore them. But in the dollars-and-cents world of business, stunting like this can and does backfire. Take for example last weeks Rush Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke free contraception kerfuffle. Its ultimate outcome failed to play out the way at least one of Rushs former sponsorsInternet backup/security company Carbonitehad imagined it would.
In the current case, Mr. Friend misunderestimated the business consequences that can result from this kind of hypocritical political stunting. Carbonites stock (ticker symbol CARB) promptly tanked after he undertook his grand weekend proclamations.
Carbonite Messed With Rush and Investors Fired Back Carbonite Stock Plummets
Dont mess with Rush or the Dittoheads may screw with you. Citing great offense over Rushs Sandra Fluke remarks, Carbonites CEO pulled its advertising and issued a loud statement of protest on its website Saturday. Even though Rush Limbaugh apologized. Too bad for Carbonite its investors made a loud statement of their own when the market opened on Monday.
Thanks for the dose of common sense. As Michael C. says, we're talking business, let's talk business. These people made the decision that they'd be better off from a business standpoint by pulling their ads. They tried to curry favor with a particular business demographic (liberals) and thought that would offset any losses from any other group. That seems to be playing out kind of poorly so far, but we'll see. Rush as to fill in the vacancies with new advertisers and from what I've heard he is doing that. I seriously doubt if any real moral outrage was in play here. Any statements along those lines from Carbonite, Sleep Train, or whoever, was just dross. What do they care that a spoiled thirty-something perpetual student has to pay $3000 for birth control pills? That has no impact in their business either way. But feigning outrage to curry favor and sympathy for an "oppressed victim" was thought to buy them into a demographic group that they thought might improve their bottom line. That's all it is with these people.
