Newt represents redemption...

He was repentant before God for his sins...

If its not to you

BUMP!
You said it much better than I!
Romney destroyed this primary with vicious lies, plus he’s worse than a snake.

Point away, Charles, because I responded to you...

And I am not going to waste any more time with you... maybe when you take the plank out of your own eye... not before.

Will you accept God's sovereign will if His choice is Rick Santorum, if He has another plan for Newt Gingrich (like Education Secretary)?

Full disclosure: Honestly, I am not sure I could accept Mitt Romney at the GOP's nominee. But Rick Santorum? Easily. Newt as well.

Some don’t seem to like that he is religious, or that he honors his wife. We saw that tonight in the deleted comment about what his wife did before Rick reached out to her in love and rescued her, and she turned her heart to God.

Some seem to have trouble with his Catholicism, although it’s hard to say whether their attacks on on the Catholic faith as a whole, or just what they perceive as Santorum’s particular practice of that faith. Since Gingrich is Catholic, I’d like to think it is the latter.

I’m not Catholic, and in a religion thread I might argue some of these things, but not as a blatant attack on the character of one of our conservative candidates.

Thanks very much, Lexinom. I’m still praying, almost non-stop; (several times daily and nightly).

In God WE Trust.

Hawaii is in the top 10 Mormon states, and the 6 of the top 10 that have voted so far have all been Romney wins. But Hawaii went 95% for McCain in 2008, although I think the was over by then and Romney had pulled out.

Newt was a great and large sinner. No one can deny that. i certainly don’t. I know people become new creatures in Christ Jesus, and I don’t see any evidence of Newt’s past behavior in his life today. How about the people who see themselves as better than Newt because they consider themselves sinless, and “called by God”. Those are the people who make the cross of Christ to none effect.

First Santorum is no Newt, not even close, he’s an entirely different type of conservative who thinks nothing of playing big government moves...who has a history that has shown him to be stubbornly egotistical and make it difficult for those he works with to do the right thing, even though he touts he’s all about doing the right thing...but you see in Ricks eyes it’s only right if he says so.

Ricks not about solutions...he’s about the right he thinks he has dispite anything to the contrary proving him wrong. Pa. ran into that all the time and so did the congress. He will have a difficult time getting congress to get anything done for his temperment and stubborness.....he’s simply not liked by other politicians...which is why so few in congress and his home state supported him early on...they now how he is.

So why would we vote for someone as off balance as that when we have the whole package in Newt , who has the tools well sharpened and the faith to bring our country back to a nation under God.

All I’ve heard from SAntorum is I’ll have a plan to...and fumbles the what he’’s going to do and there’s no plan!

I have serious concerns we have voters voting for Obama exactly like they did for Obama...they are not looking at santorum any further then skin deep.

I’m not the one who claimed that it was wrong to make statements about people here in a political forum, you were.

And if you knew your scripture, you’d understand that the plank reference is a personal one, not one to use to attack others. It is for self-reflection, not to judge others.

The stupidest thing is, I actually agree with the general thrust of your second flyer, as regards religiously judging Newt. But your whole manner of speaking makes it nearly impossible for anybody to really agree with you for long, especially when you contradict yourself so often and without understanding or acknowledgement of that fact.

One of the most precious things I have ever read on this forum. Thank you so much for that. So much.

I am shocked, really. One would have thought the South would be a bastion of conservatism in every brook and hollow. So much has been infiltrated. It is insidious what is taking place and the battle in the air, over our country.

God be graciously with us. Night, night, onyx.

Thank you for that explanation. It all makes more sense now.

I wasn't intending to bring up Newt's baggage at all. Whatever I'd said, however, was interpreted that way and attacked as such - a phenomenon known as "heightened awareness syndrome." Good for Rick if he has been faithful, and shame on his supporters for acting like Pharisees.

Newt or Rick - I frankly don't care as long as it's not Romney. Right now, Rick clearly has the upper hand because of the headlines that will run tomorrow and how that will shape the upcoming primaries. Momentum. If it was Newt, I'd be every bit as sanguine.

Dearest true believer forever,

Please, ignore Charles. You’ll be a lot happier.

He’s a major buttinski who all too often acts like a troll.

The really sad thing about Santorum supporters, if Santorum had screwed up like Newt did in his life, had repented, had made reconciliation, confessed his sins and made no excuses for them, and had changed, I would be supporting him regarding his right to start again, as much I do Newt. I couldn’t help myself. I wouldn’t like his ideas as much, I might not even support him politically, but I would fight for him against anyone who somehow suggested he was less a man, or unworthy of office, or less able to be used by God because of a past forgiven and brought to none effect. I don’t think you can teach that or even sufficiently impart it with words.

Yes, it is.

God be graciously with us.

Your words are inspirational.

I'm still reeling a little too, but oh so thankful Romney suffered defeat in both Deep Southern states. I'm so sorry Mississippi didn't come through for Newt Gingrich, but we have too many government workers and Romney got those voters. VERY TELLING!

But for the Dobson voters, (God bless 'em) Newt Gingrich would have won and it was very close regardless. Newt needed at least one victory to get a good bump, both for donations and to shut up the lamestream, but it just didn't happen.

Good night and God bless you, dear pal!

Rick's a good Catholic. I don't agree with every tenet of Catholicism but get along with them well: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

The fact Rick is pro-life and being (seemingly) attacked for that on this forum (subtle references to "religious right") - that worries me. You don't have to be a Christian to be a conservative, but one ought not oppose America's Christian, Puritan roots. Otherwise, what's the point of "conserving?"

As far as the pill goes, by even discussing that we're letting the Left shape the debate. They know that abortion is now a loser for them so they move the moment of the lever, changing its center.

As Onyx most aptly pointed out earlier, we've got Iran on the verge of (or possibly with) nukes; why are we discussing these domestic issues and making ado of a man's views thereupon? Whoever we get is going to enter an infernal blaze with many foreign and domestic fires to put out before we can discuss things like the pill.
