Former West Virginia (Democrat) sheriff, county clerk plead guilty to attempting to steal election

As the sheriff of Lincoln County, W.Va., Jerry Bowman is sworn to uphold the law. But the 58-year-old law enforcement veteran stood in a federal courtroom in Charleston on Wednesday and pleaded guilty in a shocking voter fraud case that has stripped him of his job and could send him to prison for a decade.

Prosecutors say Bowman and former Lincoln County Clerk Donald Whitten, 62, were part of a scheme to steal the May 2010 Democratic primary by stuffing ballot boxes with illegal absentee ballots.

Bowman admitted to falsifying more than 100 of the absentee ballot applications and even voting with some of the ballots himself, while Whitten, who also pleaded guilty Wednesday, acknowledged lying to investigators about the plan to try to throw the election.

"It makes you mad," said Charles Brumfield, who ran against Bowman for Lincoln County circuit clerk, about having the election stolen from him. "It was hurtful. You just didn't think that would happen in today's society."

Brumfield told Fox News that on election night, he was ahead by about 235 votes. That is, until additional batches of absentee ballots started mysteriously appearing, repeatedly, throughout the evening.

This is one reason I hate early voting and absentee voting. There should be greater restrictions on absentee votes, imho.

what, and kill the greatest single source of easy fraud for the Dims?

Why do you think fake enrollment is such a big deal - more fake enrollment = more fake absentee ballots = more Dims on office.

Rinse, repeat = Bammyland.

Dems or Mussies. The law they uphold is NOT the Constitution. One in the same.

This is one reason I hate early voting and absentee voting.

Early voting should never be allowed. Absentee voting should be seriously restriced to those who have a very valid reason. And the states with 'mail in ballots' should be stopped from doing that entirely. It is ripe for fraud.

When I was just a kid in the Boy Scouts back in the 50s, we used to walk door-to-door handing out flyers to remind people to vote. Even then, I questioned why we did that. If they weren't following events close enough to know when election day was or what the issues were, or who the candidates were, why in the hell do we want to encourage them to vote?

There is no particular honor or virtue in voting if you do not know who and what you are voting for.

Since he copped a plea, don't be surprised if he doesn't spend a day in jail. He'll probably get a suspended sentence and probation.

After all, he is a democrat.

Vote fraud machines: Pick address that can be easily monitored, Mailboxes etc for example, apartment complexes for another, fill out voter registration cards using names from a cemetery or simply make them up, make a copy so you know what the signature looks like.

Now for either primary or general elections you request an absentee ballot for every one of those fake voters, vote the ballot, make sure the signature looks right, mail it back. No need for an ID with picture, no chance of being caught by a poll worker who knows you are not who you say you are. The end result, a stolen election. Now do the math, the Republican turn out has been in the cellar with Romney the least liked and yet he wins. the voting public is gullible BUT there are some of us who can see and connect the dots.

The vote fraud machine was turned out to put Romney in front because the Democrats know that Romney will lose to Obama by at least ten points.

You see, now if he had pulled this stunt against a republican, nothing would have happened to him. No prosecution. No conviction. He wouldn’t have been thrown off the force. Someone should have told him that he isn’t supposed to do this against democrats.

The New York Times and Washington Post won’t touch this story with a 10 foot pole.

Agreed. There is actually virtue in staying home in such cases.

Once our kids graduated from high school and went off to college, I thought we were wise skipping the school board elections because we weren't following events enough to know what we were doing. Then we discovered the teacher's union were fielding their own slate of candidates so they could negotiate on both sides of the table. Now, we figure out the slate of union puppets and vote for the others.

This guy is a rank amateur. The fraud in the battleground states (Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and North Carolina) will be immense and done by professionals.

To me, it is among the most heinous crimes a person can commit. For every fraud ballot he submitted, he stole the Constitutional right of another person to vote.

I'd be in favor of a year of hard time for each violation... no parole! Steal 100 votes.... a hundred years in the slammer. No mercy. Lets see how many of these grubbing politicians have the guts for that.
