Thomas Sowell explains why Gingrich is the best to take on Obama

Yes, that's as far as your rationale can take you, so it's fair. The rest of us surpassed you.
The weak can only see/want a weak candidate - they AREN'T CAPABLE of anything more. Life's a b*tch when some choose to remain blind.
Thank goodness I’m not the only one who cringes everytime I hear a conservative say that. What this has accomplished is to let the GOP know that we will vote for whomever they decide to thrust upon us. It was a big mistake to fall for it.
The time to talk like that is AFTER the nominee has been chosen, not before. It does sound to me like it was a GOP talking point from the get-go using Obama as the boogey man.
***When Newt Gingrich was forced out as speaker, Republicans lost the best idea man theyd had in years.***
That was the GOPes’ motive - get rid of the only articulate, principled, hard-working conservative.
I had always believed that GOPes were gentlemen and DOPes were nasty. I was wrong. GOPes are lazy and DOPes are power hungry socialists.
There is nothing comparable from the Romney or Santorum camps.
Herman Cain and Rick Perry had more ideas than those two - and the intelligence to support Newt as the most competent and accomplished conservative.
He makes a good case for Newt, but a better case for voting for WHOEVER faces Obama.
Newt Gingrich said Friday that the Labor Department fudged its calculation of February unemployment: If we had the same level of participation in the labor force we had the day Obama was sworn in, it would be 10.8%. Obama’s achievement has not been creating jobs, his achievement has been driving people out of the workforce. That’s not progress, that’s going backwards and it makes him the best food stamp president in American history.

Where do the other candidates stand on the latest job numbers? They’re not challenging them? I’m shocked.
They are too busy ‘splaining how “conservative” they’ve been *grin*
It's not his "baggage." It's his LUGGAGE, and he's going places.
Romney’s off eatin grits to prove how severely Southern he is, and Rick got sidetracked by a conversation about mainline Protestantism :)
A few days ago, Greg Mankiw posted this amusing dialogue about the unemployment rate, as if Abbott and Costello had to discuss it. Here is a tidbit of the exchange:
COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.
ABBOTT: Good subject. Terrible times. Its about 9%.
COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?
ABBOTT: No, thats 16%.
COSTELLO: You just said 9%.
ABBOTT: 9% Unemployed.
COSTELLO: Right 9% out of work.
ABBOTT: No, thats 16%.
COSTELLO: Okay, so its 16% unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, thats 9%
“Romneys off eatin grits to prove how severely Southern he is, and Rick got sidetracked by a conversation about mainline Protestantism”
Romney has just purchased a pair of Texas boots and a hat, while Rick looked around in people’s bedrooms, to check out their lives... You know “individuals can’t go alone”.
“Romney has just purchased a pair of Texas boots and a hat”
Are you serious?
I’m just guessing :)
lol
