CNN's Peter Hamby reports that Louis CK, the comic who repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin with vile sexual slurs, has withdrawn from headlining the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents Association dinner set for June 8, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Hamby quotes Louis CK's agent saying, "He just didn't want to do it anymore."
The decision by Louis CK to drop out of the dinner came on the heels of a boycott of the dinner over his appearance by Fox News' Greta Van Susteren announced last night.
Free Republic gave prominence to Louis CK's role at the dinner and his vile attacks on Palin in an article posted in Breaking News on Monday night. From there, talk radio hosts Mark Levin and Sean Hannity made an issue of the situation with the dinner on their respective radio shows. Several blogs and Twitter users also highlighted Free Republic posted article about the issue.
Brent Bozell at Newsbusters originally reported on the dinner Monday, but buried mention of it in a column on the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy.
BUMP for great freeping.
By the way, I think Louis CK is a liar. He didn’t drop out because, “he didn’t feel like doing it”.
Somebody told that scumbag to take a hike.
??
Nicely done, keep up the good work
It’s great that Greta Von Susteren Sustained the pressure!
Congrats on a job well done!
“You can’t fire me, I quit!”
The Democrats and their media lapdogs’ disingenuous and orchestrated attack on Rush Limbaugh is coming back to haunt them. Their allies, Maher, Louis CK, Sandra Berhard etc. have been far more grotesque in their comments towards conservative women and have never received the slightest scrutiny or reproval from the hordes of major media who now revel in the false agonistes over Limbaugh’s comments about the abortion activist Sandra Fluke. The leftist media now sits in the uncomfortable position of defending these gross attacks from their “comedians”, and as their explanatory logic is twisted like a bad DNA strand - they have been forced to finally receive detailed and unwanted attention to their hideous remarks. ...But they cannot be ‘misogynists’ since they are comedians, Democratic comedians!’
Maher is nervous, Louis CK is losing jobs, the hard, cold revelation of their hypocrisy is causing real problems. Maher tried to defend Rush to defuse this attention to himself. I am glad they opened this Pandora’s Box, we can sit back and enjoy the show - and laugh at the pretzel logic.
Hey kristinn! Nice job man! Great work.
The only thing I regret is that Mr. Dirty Bird quit before anyone in the MSM took notice, so now it will all be swept under the rug since 97% of journalists have no problem with filth, as long as it’s aimed at conservatives.
Agreed , someone got rid of him .
bump
If you ever want some more, just come on back.
Thanks kristinn.
Awesome! Kudos to Greta too.
While the comedian may be irrelevant, the organization is a big deal, and this event is one of the most prestigious dinners in Washington.
Using old Freeper language, this really **IS** “hugh and series,” and Kristinn deserves huge credit, along with Jim Robinson for making Free Republic a force to be reckoned with. Having the clout to force the most important media people in Washington to back down from their own hypocrisy is not a minor accomplishment.
More broadly, it's a huge example of the power of “crowdsourcing” in the new media to run circles around the paid staff of the old media. Rathergate put Free Republic on the media map, but that's just one example of what Free Republic is capable of doing to counteract the power of liberal media elites.
What just happened, while it won't get as much attention because the comedian backed down before he was forced out publicly like Rather, is another.
Too bad Tony Snow isn't still with us, or by the time this was done, Free Republic might get asked to join the Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents Association and have Kristinn attend the event officially as a member.

Absolutely! I might not agree with Marathoner's salty words, but with him, I'm sick and tired of conservatives playing defense. It's good to see someone on the offense for a change. As CaptainK said, it's time for us to demand that the people accusing Rush Limbaugh of bad behavior apply the same standards to themselves — and they won't be happy.
What Jim Robinson is doing here with Free Republic is the same sort of thing that the media moguls like Hearst, Pulitzer, etc. were doing a century ago. I know the comparisons aren't precise, but they are definitely there, and Free Republic is an important and potentially deadly part of the conservative information network.
I hope the Republican elites and Mitt Romney got the message about the dangers of tangling with Free Republic.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!!! When this site is used for the enemy
YOU will not believe how much power you have!!!! I have been on this site
lurking since 1996 I have watched Freepers MOVE MOUNTAINS, I am
