I like the “but not enough to change perceptions that the labor market was strengthening” line right behind it, though.

These people will say anything to get Dear Reader elected again.

MSNBC where bad economic news is always “unexpected” yet to us is always expected to be labeled unxpected.

New claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week, a government report showed on Thursday, but not enough to change perceptions propaganda that the labor market was strengthening.

There, fixed it. A little early to know any one's perceptions.

And if it was a Republican in office right now, the headline would be:

Due to antiquated right-wing economic policies, unemployment claims rose by 8,000 this week, as expected.

We should hold any optimism until we get some perspective on business sentiment because BUSINESSES ARE THE ONES WHO HIRE.

According to Business Insider:

the latest announcement from the NFIB is not good.

The organization that represents small businesses says net new job creation among their members was rather poor in February.

Granted, this is just based on a random 642 member survey, but still, not the kind of confirmatory data you'd like to see.

There was actually a very big decline in the net number of new firms planning on adding workers.

And the number of workers per firm barely gained.

And there was an uptick in the number of firms planning on cutting workers ( here in NY where I live, the largest Investment banks are still in CUTTING MODE ).

Isn’t it racist to notice anything that would negatively impact the Obama administration? < / sarc, as if needed >

But, but, but... the economy's getting better. Both CNN and MSDNC say so.

If they give some sort of award for “Non-sequitur Headline of the Year”, PMSNBC has just won it.

Polishing turds is a nasty job but MSNBC seems to relish it.

Am I tarded or does this sound ridiculous to everyone?

“””Despite the rise in claims last week, labor market conditions are improving and the government is expected to report on Friday that the economy had a third straight month of solid job gains in February.””””

Memorandum for the Record

From: Ministry of Truth
To: Lowly Unwashed Masses of New America

Subject: Directed Thought of the Day

As ordered, you are directed to believe the employment situation in New America is continuing to improve, regardless of reports surfacing today that may indicate otherwise.

You are further directed to maintain a countenance of happiness, euphoria and total faith in the benevolent leadership and guidance of The One and His assigns.

Noncompliance with these orders are regarded as crimes against the State and are tantamount to directly offending The One, resulting in swift, natural-cause action against you.

That is all. Proceed with approved activities until promulgation of further direction.

The number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits rose last week, a government report showed on Thursday, but not enough to change perceptions that the labor market was strengthening.

MSNBC in 1935: "The Dust Bowl storms continued into their 27th month, but not enough to change perceptions that the drought was ending."

MSNBC in 1945: "The two nuclear weapons convinced Japan to surrender, but not enough to change perceptions that the War in the Pacific was ending."

MSNBC actually has negative-credibility.
