Well Monica Conyers didn’t get her hands on any of it, she’s still in federal prison and Kwame is in Texas.

Even if it helped all 400, that’s $27,400 each. What’s wrong with these people?

It was only $115,000 that was to be spent on the clothing, or a mere $57,000 per person actually helped. Dressing “Fly” in Motown not be cheap.

Or $287.50 each for 400 folks.
That sounds about right to help the poorest of the poor to buy some shoes and a decent set of clothes for an interview. Although I get most of my clothes at the local thrift store. If I had to do it cheap:
New Shoes (Big 5 sports on sale): $25
Thrift Store pants: $15
Thrift Store Shirt: $15
Thrift Store Sport Coat: $25
New Tie: $20
New Socks: $10
_______
Total: $110.00
That seems a bit much by my standards. Would need to go on the “Half-Price Wednesdays” I guess!

It symbolizes everything wrong with the federal government.

A privately run charity could have used the money to actually outfit twice as many job seekers, but the money was probably used to line someones pockets.
Though the article is poorly written, the amount lost was only $115K on this portion of an 11 million dollar scam, er program. I wonder where the rest did go?
