A local school district is apologizing after an apparent incident of racism at a boys high school basketball game this past weekend.
When the final whistle blew Saturday, Alamo Heights celebrated a convincing victory over San Antonio Edison.
Alamo Heights Head Coach Andrew Brewer said he was proud of his team.
“Tremendously proud,” Brewer said. “Tremendously. It’s the best group of kids.”
But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans.
“USA, USA, USA,” they chanted.
San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a racial insult to a school with all minority players from a school with mostly white ones.
On the KSAT 12 Defenders Facebook page, Santos Villarreal’s post reads “this has to stop.”

Wait one danged minute here... If they are barred from the states’ title games, then what is gained by apologizing anyway? I mean other than kowtowing to someone else’s principles over your own (a net negative to begin with).

Chanting USA is racist. As are voter ID laws (ID laws for booze are fine though. Alcohol like guns kill.) What is wrong with you folks? It implies that legal Americans are better than undocumented immigrants in this country (I wont even say the name ‘USA’, OOPS)
Why are these kids chanting in English anyway? They don't know Spanish?

I hope the parents go rip-$hit over this....we shall see.
This is a First Amendment issue. They have the support of hundreds of thousands of Americans nationwide. A class action suit is on the horizon for the students victimized by the Mexican Mafia, and the managers of the school system for whom "expediency" is the way to enforce heavy-handed Political Correctnes.
They will have my financial monthly support for however long it takes.

Hey Bender2, as someone who sorely misses the time he spent in Texas I understand the feeling. Unfortunately, at this point the only word that's likely to make a difference is: lawsuit.
As others have noted, the PC Left has declared all-out war in the culture battle, and they're no longer interested in "talking things out"(not that they ever really were - they just pretended to be). They're now in full "my way or the highway" mode and the only way to deal with them is to defeat them.
Appeasement and compromise merely leaves the Left emboldened to try something similar again at the next opportunity. They need to suffer consequences and defeats that will make it clear to them that even attempting such nonsense is unacceptable.
However, as I said, the fans rooting for Alamo Heights get a special pass because of the obvious strong emotional attachment many of the latinos in schools in the deep SW have for Mexico. I'm sure this is what compelled the USA chanting, and I probably would've been with em.
I decided to learn Spanish after I was already grown up.
I see pro-life bumper stickers in Spanish all over the place, and yet they vote overwhelmingly for leftists.
I found one of my favorite songs, "Alma Llanera," a very popular song from Venezuela, on Youtube. In the comments it said,
"Viva Venezuela, muera Chavez!"
Translation: "Long live Venezuela, die Chavez!"
It's sad that people immigrate here for a better life, and then vote for those who would destroy it here.
