USA chant is typically made at international events, not domestic ones. If the USA chant was made in my area against one of the high schools with a predominately asian student body most reasonable people would imply the motives were something other than spontaneous patriotism.

However, as I said, the fans rooting for Alamo Heights get a special pass because of the obvious strong emotional attachment many of the latinos in schools in the deep SW have for Mexico. I'm sure this is what compelled the USA chanting, and I probably would've been with em.

In what sense is a USA chant "against" a high school here? Are high schools like foreign embassies now?
