A California woman on a Southwest Airlines flight was reportedly arrested and detained after a verbal confrontation with a flight attendant regarding her nail polish.
Jeanie Daniels told WOFL that she was painting her nails in her seat on a Southwest Airlines flight from California to Texas last month when a flight attendant asked her to stop. Daniels then went to the bathroom to finish and later began arguing with the flight attendant, who waited outside the bathroom.
Daniels was handcuffed and detained for more than 10 hours when the flight landed in Houston.
"She started screaming at me and wouldn't stop, Daniels told the station. "I said I'm sorry, I apologize and I put it away. About ten minutes into the flight I discovered I only had two nails left to paint so I thought well if I went to the bathroom and did it, it wouldn't offend anyone."

So, its a fairly selfish and stupid thing to do.

Once upon a time, when girls were brought up with proper training in ladylike behavior, this woman would have learned at an early age that a lady does not perform her grooming tasks in public.
But, evidently, this woman is no lady.
[ Having witnessed first hand a woman doing nail polish in flight, I applaud all those involved in this case. Polish releases aeromatic fumes at altitude which are noxious beyond belief. ]
I don’t paint my nails or use polish or keep them long. I am too busy doing things around the house or at work to have to worry about chipping my “precious nails”. Besides Long nails used to be a sign of “nobility” in that in the olden days you could have long nails as you would have servants who would take care of EVERYTHING for you including wiping your rear end.
I see long nails as giving yourself a disadvantage when it comes to mobility and cleanliness. I tried long nails once and they are extremely hard to keep clean under them and I am a habitual hand washer. It is nasty the stuff that accumulates under them besides all the issues with keeping them clean.
There has also been a LOT of studies on cosmetics and fingernail paint and nail paint can be an excellent vector for introducing all sorts of wonderful chemicals into the body. Don’t get me started on cosmetics, My one sister always would cake the stuff on her face like bozo the clown and now without the make up her skin looks horrible and she HAS to wear it. If I wear any it is only on special occasion and I only use it to cover blemishes.
“So whats the big deal about nail polish?”
The homosexual stewards thought it clashed with her purse.
The fat granny lesbian stewardesses don’t approve of women dressing up.
Good question. For all we know, there could have been a line of people waiting to use the restroom, or, the flight attendants could have waiting outside to see.
Or the woman could have snatched up her nail polish and marched to the restroom. These stories are so chock-full of facts.
Can't imagine sitting next to this inconsiderate idiot. Mrs WBill does her nails in the bathroom so that she can turn the fan on. If she didn't, I'd likely ask her to stop (or move, or something), too. And I'm a whole lot more inclined to give my wife more latitude than some inconsiderate schmuck in Seat 14B.
Maybe so....but the article says nothing of the sort.
Hope the handcuffs didn’t ruin her nails.
Another candidate for my “Incredibly Stupid and misleading Headlines” folder...
Some “quests” will get you mired down, covered in mud.
What happened to your wrist?
“So it doesn’t say she apologized and put it away. It says Daniels told the station that.”
also I think someone said that someone screamed at her... But the fact is, someone _alleged_ that the other screamed at her. We don’t know that and we can’t assume that, yet. ... At my workplace, I’ve noticed that when people want to, they’ll say that the other person “screamed” or “yelled at” them, but sometimes they are exaggerating. And sometimes it was the _other_ person who did the screaming, and then says “So-n-so screamed at me.”
