According to a series of advertisers' Twitter and Facebook statements, at least 20 different sponsors have now pulled their spots from Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
In case you're new to the kerfuffle—welcome out of hibernation!—advertisers began dropping like flies after Limbaugh called a Georgetown law student and women's rights activist a "slut" and a "prostitute" for supporting healthcare coverage for contraception.
Sleep Number and The Sleep Train, both mattress suppliers, were the first two advertisers to pull their ads Friday, and the numbers have grown tenfold since then.
Media Matters has been regularly updating a list of advertisers that have been dropped (or aired) ads on Limbaugh's show.
On Tuesday, Bare Escentuals, Sensa Weight Loss program, Hadeed Carpet, Thompson Creek Windows, Vitacost, AccuQuote Life insurance, and Polycom all joined the Exodus.
Two local radio stations have also stopped running Limbaugh's show.
But some advertisers are finding it difficult to pull their ads, even if they disagree with Limbaugh's statements, because they bought package deals with the network. This means that their ads aren't specifically intended to air during Limbaugh's show.
Amberen, a menopause medication, explained the difficulty on its Facebook page:
"We understand that some of our customers are concerned that Amberen ads are still airing on the Rush Limbaugh show. Lunada Biomedical assures you that we take these concerns to heart! Most of our employees, including the CEO, are female. And like millions of other Americans we were outraged by Rush Limbaugh's incendiary and offensive comments. However, we are a small company that buys remnant (leftover) media time and, as such, we cannot, by definition, be considered the ‘sponsors’ of Mr. Limbaugh's show.”

I let them know that we will not do business with them ever again. The leftists do not leave when their side spouts vile and much worse remarks than what Rush said. Hypocrits. And the people realize it too.
Weird, most of these so called advertisers, I have never heard of or ever heard an ad. Many of these must be regional.
This may take me a while, since my formatting skills are abominable, but here are the first two I just called and spoke/left a message with.
Just like calls to our “representatives”, I strive to be as polite as humanly possible, and find that I get to say a LOT more ; )

I just called NetFlix and was told they were not actually advertising on Rush’s show to begin with. There had been two spots that were played on Rush’s show in error before, but they tell me they are not actually Rush advertisers. I told them that I’ll take their word for now, but I also said that if I find out that NF is in fact an advertiser on Rush’s show and have dropped over this nonsense, that I would immediately cancel my NetFlix account. I also told them that Media Matters is reporting they ARE an advertiser and thus telling the world that NF has dropped thier advertising over this Fluke crap.
I like Rush AND I like sluts.
I’ve never been more conflicted.
Some of these I heard just today.
I hear there are like 12 listeners on that liberal radio network, maybe they can all advertise there. They might get some sales if they take foodstamps ...
“Is it just me, or are more than a few of these companies in a mess?”
Exactly. Here’s more:
CARBONITE loses tens-of-millions every year... they’ve never become profitable.
AOL has been losing millions every year since they bought Huffington Post.
These 2 companies are financial disasters. Plus, they were taking money from Limbaugh’s audience and using it to fund left-wing causes.
For example, CARBONITE’s owner, DAVID FRIEND, funds MoveOn.org
Breitbart has DETAILS:
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/03/04/Carbonite%20Head%20David%20Friend%20A%20MoveOn%20Supporter
You all need to watch this you tube video funny and this guy hits it on the head! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AndFAlAxzMs
so they are counting every two-bit local sponsor to get the count up to 20...can’t imagine the Philadelphia Orchestra runs ads on any station outside of Philly.
Today, CARBONITE stock fell -8.74%.
Symbol = CARB
Sounds like they’re doing great without Rush!
Hopefully they’ll be extinct soon.
Buy a cheap ZIP drive instead of using Carbonite. Their owner, David Friend, dumps money into MoveOn.org and other Soros front groups (according to Breitbart).
“St Vincent’s” medical center?
I was happy to close my Sears accounts and will NEVER patronize Pro Flowers ever again
Sensa is a rip off
I have a dying vase of Pro Flowers roses sitting on my counter right now. If it didnt cost me money I’d send them to the CEO
I didn’t see Capitol One on your list. They want to keep their corporate image good with women by only associating with real feminists, like Alec Baldwin.
I just called to do that and was told they were not actually ever advertisers on Rush, but that a couple of spots had been run in error in the past. I'll be interested to hear what they tell you. If I find out they were, in fact, advertisers on Rush's show and have dropped because of this Fluke Flack, I told them in no uncertain terms, they will have lost a customer.
Sears told me they didn’t advertise with Rush. If an ad had been run it would have been put on incorrectly. They do not buy ads based on political views.
Media Matters is lying with their numbers.......
Netflix told me the same thing. ANy chance Media Matter is lying to get people all worked up? Nah, liberals would never lie - would they? /sarc
Who knew there was so much money floating around to buy all these products!! Business must be booming!!!!!
Ridiculous to mix local and national ads in a list like that. As though I’ll be going to “Bethesda Dentistry” any time soon (2,700 miles away).
