HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich took aim at GOP rival Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama during a campaign stop in north Alabama.
Speaking at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Gingrich portrayed himself as a visionary leader and criticized Romney as a caretaker of decline.
Gingrich said Obama's energy policies are behind rising gasoline prices. He encouraged the audience to update their Facebook status with "Newt = $2.50 a gallon."
"We need to develop our own energy here so we don't have to worry about Iran and Middle East," he told the crowd.
"I said we should have an aggressive space program and got blasted for it," he continued. "This isn't the last phase of the space program. This is the launching pad for the future."

Newt understands how NASA and our science and technology drives the American spirit and economy. NASA needs to be revamped not destroyed like Obama and his Science and Technology Henchman, John P. Holdren (the population bomb co-author) are doing to take us to our knees.

This is actually a good way of expressing it.
If Romney is the candidate, he will never get elected...but if he somehow did, he has no plans for anything but doing what Obama is doing now, turning the US into an aging European-style welfare state where the economy and even private life are state-controlled. Whether Romney regards himself as the fulfillment of a Mormon prophecy or Obama regards himself as the fulfillment of a Muslim prophecy, the end result is the same.
And it's not the US of A and it has no future.

They need to make a very compressed version and buy airtime for it wherever they can.
Gingrich does have a very American story, for one thing, and I think a little more projection of this could help public perception of him (Army brat, going from a community college professor to a candidate for political office because of his principles, etc.)
